Ok in my last thread I asked about usfreeads.com and their effectiveness in affiliate marketing. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=749120 To answer my question myself I am going to set myself up a little experiment. I am going to set up 80 ads that will promote 40 products. Each ad will focus on a different keyword. I will write the ads as Travis Sago shows in one of his videos... I will share the results here!
Nice experiment. Will keep an eye on this. Would also be nice to let us know a bit about how you do your keyword research. Cheers
Thanks... Actually I am doing them for products that I am a vendor for... I want to know if this works so that I can recommend it to my affiliates.
I can not tell you that you are going to be rich from usfread but i know for sure if you write the ads correctly you will get a few sales from it . Good luck and can't wait for the results . By the way do you have a deadline ? It's good to set up a deadline for those kind of projects . One more advice , read the rules before you start writing these ads because one day i wrote 10 ads and the next morning all of them was unacceptable . I don't remember why . Good luck again
I have a copywriter doing the ads for me, so they will be ready Monday. I will stick all 80 up then and then update this thread every few days. It only cost $9 for the account and $80 for the ads, so I only need 4 sales over the month to get my money back. From this though I can gage if it will be something worth doing in the long term. It will also give other members an excellent starting point if it works too.
I wouldn't waste time on USFreeads. It can be good secondary stream of income, but not primary. Instead you spend on your time articles, if you like writing... Just personal opinion.
Sure... I just wanted to test so that I had clear evidence. Opinions are great, but as I am sure you will agree... evidence is better!
Hmm... Just before I do all eighty ads I wanted to put up two to see what happens... I went after the key-phrase 'Stop Smoking Hypnosis'. I submitted the ad yesterday and it is already in google. Only problem is that it is in 400th place! I can't see that getting much traffic... I will keep you all posted!
Use long tail keywords, and find them with http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com "Stop smoking hypnosis" is so called short tail keyword and because there is usually high competition you'll get bad google position. To avoid this you could use something like "self hypnosis download stop smoking" Long tail keywords have around 5 keywords or more. And to see what's the competition on google write the keyword with quotes and look at the results. Usually you should get good rankings if there is less then 1000 sites with that exact keyword. But you could test even that and go for keywords that have up to 10.000 competing websites because different sites (ezinearticles, usfreeads, hubpages, squidoo etc) will get different rankings. Also, you could be wasting your time if you are writing articles for keywords that have no searches. So use the http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/gtrends/ gtrends tool and look at graphs that will show you the real daily searches.
OK all, TrafficRider is going to be doing the copy-writing for this project and has said that the ads will be ready in 48-72 hours. So I guess we will be kicking the experiment off on Tuesday at the latest! Should be interesting. Once the ads are live I will post my usfreeads.com profile link so you can check them out.
Guys... Its a test! This way at least we will actually know its worth instead of just peddling opinions...
theres no harm in testing.Dont ignore any new thing.it might work or if it doesnt work we will know for sure instead of just guessing.
The full experiment should start tomorrow or Tuesday. The copywriter is one the job as we speak... I did one test for - 'Lying Personality Compulsive' - check it out to see how it did...
Hi, any news on how this is going? I'm watching this thread and I'm interested in the results. Thanks.
