I'm surprised they haven't encouraged Google to black out Google Earth images as well.

Pentagon is spying others and invading other people privacy yet they mad at somebody looking at their places.

Any government take decisions for people.Pentagon take decisions for people. Other governments also have same rights to protect people. wont be blaming the Pentagon or any government.

 

google should have known better than that anyway, they have big heads.

 

I can't get to the actual article, I keep get re-directed to "Forbes says Gates is no longer the world's richest man".

Anyways, I guess now that google has blocked out any potentially "harmful" images that it's all going to blow over and nothing more is going to come of this.

 

Makes you wonder why the Pentagon has not prevented this from happening in the first place.

 

I'm glad Google went ahead and did what the Pentagon asked. Situation easily resolved.

 

What goes around comes around. You love to ban and slap people, now somebody slap and ban you.

I think its stupid for the Pentagon to threaten Google.. who knows what they want off the map next. :S

 

I think some other goverment in asia had some problems with google maps showing the layout of military bases...but I think those are still up....

 

I don't blame them from not wanting to be shown. It's more interesting that Google tried to show it.

I believe Pentagon has a strong reason to maintain its secrecy. National Security should be our top priority these days.

 

That is very interesting. If Google is honoring the US, but not other country's wishes, that's pretty arrogant. What if Baidu (Chinese search engine) decided to show info like that of US government installations!

 

Indian govt have also made google remove images of Indian air force basses and some other high security zones

 

Pentagon and anyone who needs privacy have all the rights to complain...

 

So, what happens if someone see the Pentagon?
Or they're planning another fishy "airplane" attack and don't wont spying eyes?
