AdSense Earnings Decrease

Google investors are still at the table eating their losses after comScore's report that paid click revenues were flat in the month of January. Impending recession was the chief suspect among speculators, but nobody finds any real support for that. More astute observers noticed that revenue flattened very soon after webmasters began reporting on decreases in AdSense earnings.

Lot of things to be said and tell, let's start what's on your mind... :)

Decreases? Flat? Like all things Adsense, it's not all the same for everyone.

I have to agree on that . Before I was getting lesser number of clicks but was earning more amount per click but now I have almost three times those number of clicks and not even close to what I was earning before :D

Even though the earning is down, but adsense is still the best out there for websites.

Lot of speculations, but AdSense earnings decrease based on the said report statistics.

Economic law 101 "The Demand and Supply"

If advertiser is greater than publisher = The demands of ads also get bigger = CPC is high
If publisher is greater than advertiser = ???

What do you think? I've also heard lots of adsense account disable issue, do you think it's one of the reason why google are on their banning spree?

Too many people are chasing the same money. No wonder adsense earnings are decreasing for all publishers. Google knows this is going to be a problem down the road, so they're tying to get rid of all the 'hobbyist' publishers with small (and sometimes questionable) sites.

    That' my theory.

Financial niches such as bankruptcy have been going steady for me, the CPC has been pretty solid.

There are days when it seems to drop from the sky but that's pretty normal from what I can tell.

I think I'm going to concentrate on the debt related niches for the time being.

Anyhow, I think what the OP has brought up should help to remind us not to put all our eggs in one basket.

My Boss told me he has lowered his CPC due to poor conversion rate. He is targeting USA only and his conversion was about 5% to 7% 3 months ago. Now its only 2 to 3%.

My earnings have increased significantly in the last two months. If your earnings have decreased, it's not necessarily because Google has reduced earnings for everyone, although I'm sure that would make you feel better. Not all web sites are alike, not all webmasters are alike, and not all niches are alike.

I purposely cut down my impressions from 20k to 10k a day. Guess what? My earnings somehow went up.

That just goes to show you that there's no exact science to Adsense. It's unpredictable.
