Hi there, I just want to share some news with our U.S. Yahoo! Search Marketing advertisers. Within several weeks, minimum bids for a number of Sponsored Search keywords will no longer be fixed at $.10. Your new minimum bids can be lower or higher than $.10. Content Match minimum bids currently will remain at $.10. The amount set as your minimum bid on a keyword in Sponsored Search can vary depending on multiple factors, such as the relevance of your keywords (as measured by the quality of the ads associated with them), and the number of bidders and bid amounts in the particular keyword market. We’ve posted a more detailed article on the new features on our Yahoo! Search Marketing blog: http://www.ysmblog.com/blog/2008/02/26/minimum-bids/ I appreciate all the feedback on this forum. All the best, YahooPete
hmm does that mean that there could be keywords that will have minimum bids higher than 10 cents? don't like that!
Thanks for the information Pete. I also received the info via E-mail, and thanks for keeping us informed.
why do you think this is a good news? you will pay 7 or 8 cents for few keywords, instead of 10 and $5 to activate many keywords that yahoo will think they are not very targeted... google does this @YahooPete - wherever changes google does, yahoo will do as well. yes i know, you do this because they - google - found is beneficial for quality it will add more value... and it makes sense to do this changes, but when you will do like them in problems regarding the editorial reviews, you know, be more flexible. google doesn't remove you keywords every week.
Hey folks, Thanks for all the constructive feedback and follow ups on this post! We appreciate your comments and take them very seriously because we want to know what our advertisers are saying. All the best, YahooPete
its a good step Pete. i don't think minimum bid should be set at 10 cents which is lot for some keywords. an advertiser should be rewarded with lower bid cost based on good quality index and CTR. thanks for the update
