Tinyurl.com and backling questein

    If i use a tinyurl.com link from these forums or anywhere else on the web and to my website will that count as a backlink in the search engines?

    No it doesn't. You use Tinyurl for cloaking ur links, hence no backlinks seen from SEs.
    Use cloaking only if you want to "hide" something (such as affiliate ids).
