    Having the same problem, 5.45pm GMT :mad:.

    I am really pissed about this, netfrims are usually pretty good, but as always it happens at the worst time or when I am busy. Losing money hand over fist now.

    Anyone know if you can sue a company if when their servers go down (and arent repaired quickly) and cause finanical loss? :(

    Cant even report it because netfirms support is located on their servers :mad:!

    Saturday too, probably no one about to fix them either...

    Im so sick of netfirms. Last year I switched all but two of my domains from them to hostican. Anyone who wants to get off netfirms should try hostican, they have MUCH better support and uptime, and if you sign up on a website somewhere you get a 60$ rebate back, so the first year is almost free. Anyway, as soon as these servers are back up Im off netfirms forever, piece of shit

    Wow!
    I used to view them a a bit overpriced, but a truly dependable host.
    Never once have I seen any downtime (but I don't always check either)
    ````
    Bye, bye Netfirms :eek:
    jesus... how fucking long does it take to reboot the servers?
    Surely they should have some sort of mirror or bakup alternative? I always thought nefirms were pretty decent and they had there act together but clearly they are either fucking clueless or totally inept at hosting.
    Alternative hosting, any recommedations?
    Any one know of any companies that guarentee a minimum downtime? I know they all pitch it, but do any actually guarentee like an hour minimum (if ever) or something similar?
    My Reccomendation:
    hostican dot com
    And if you want to save $100 or so, this guy runs an affiliate site, he posts discount codes, and when you buy through his referral, he mails you a rebate check. I tried it back in august, worked great, I got 1 year of hosting for free, and was so happy that I upgraded to the unlimited domain plan. Check it out,.. I am in no way affiliated with this company of this guys website:
    Until today, I would have called Netfirms one of the most stable large hosts ever built.
    The (original) reasons more DP members don't use Netfirms were price and a non-standard cPanel.
    ```

    For uptime, they used to be almost perfect.

    How long have you been using hostican? This outage with Netfirms is dragging me into thinking about alternatives.

    i will check them out...pretty cool that they buy out your contract, clearly hungry for the business. Domain for life is also pretty good. I just hope they can cope with all the people needing to switch over.

    I only renewed with nebfirms because I couldnt be bothered to spend a day updating my files, most of the other companies offer a better deal for a few bucks more or less. Shame really, I noticed netfirms seemed to be targeting the budget end of the market more aggressively.. I should of read between the lines and realised that the service might suffer.

    ..10am (EST). I was in the middle of uploading ftp and it hung. I tried all of my domains -- nothing. I tried netfirms.ca -- nothing. ..same with .com.

    I called every contact number I could find - either a loud dial tone or a "circuits busy" recording...

    This is very bad.

    I just noticed about 10 mins ago that their main website is loading, but my account wasn't recognized when I tried to login to my control panel. Webmail wouldn't load at all...

    Some servers or someone must have shit the bed hard today.

    ..am very curious to hear other people's experiences today.

    -annoyed

    www.hemlockconcertposters.com -- but good luck gettin' there... :confused:
