No, and personally don't care if it comes down to defending our country. * This doesn't mean I support the Iraq war.
IMHO each sovereign country have their own laws within the area of their jurisdiction. International laws depends on which sovereign countries actually rectified and are willing to be abide by that particular set of laws. There are many international laws covering many wide and diverse areas. But if you are talking about USA respecting the rule of law internationally, question I would like to ask is whose law apply internationally, answer to that seems to be none. Laws applicable to one country may not be applicable in another, the country involved can simply claim it is their rights under Acts of State.
the rule of law is whoever has the bigger weapons makes the rules and can setup media opinion to back them up. We did it for the iraq war at the time. The soviets did it for their satellites, the chinese and so on and so on and so on. Its been done this way in empires throughout the ages and it hasnt changed yet.
What is this international rule of law you speak of? Every permanent member of the security council is engaged in expansionist/imperialist enterprise as we speak. If that's the international rule of law then yes, we support it. Heck, we created it.
A man who respects the truth! Way of thinking. "We are always right the others - when they serve our interests." Avoiding the painful answer. Very True!!! Everybody figured out what I meant. And I was not talking about economic expansionism. Changing borders, waging wars on independent countries (who were not posing a trheat to US) without UN approval. What do you think that is?
