1on40.com claims that if you enter your website and 5 keyphrases, it will get you to the #1 position in Google and several other search engines for those keyphrases within 120 days. After that, you have to pay to stay in that position. It's completely free until you get to the top and start needing to pay. More so, they say they don't use any illicit search engine tactics. I don't possibly see how this could work, seems like BS to me.

OK, so let's say you guys are right, and it does not work.

What those guys ask you to do is register your site and five keywords you want to rank #1 for, and sit back whilst they do their part. Not what I'd call hard work.

I registered with them a couple of weeks ago, and I can tell you they do not spam and the only communications I get from them are related to news about their site and their program. No, I don't have results to show yet, and it's OK with me since they say they'll give me results in 120 days. And yes, I did use a special email address so I know they didn't sell it either.

What's in it for them? Well, as we all know getting to #1 does not mean staying there. Their offer is: we get you to #1 during 7 days, after that, you'll have to bid on the keywords if you want us to keep working on them.

Why do they do it for free? Because they are in beta stage, and they want to establish their reputation. What better way to establish their reputation than to actually show potential customers what they can do before starting to charge for the job? That's marketing...

    So, IMHO bottom line is:

What will you lose if you try their program and it doesn't work? Five minutes, say ten minutes to get your site listed? How many ten minutes have you ever wasted online? I know I have wasted quite more than that just today.

Now, consider what you could lose if you DON'T try and it DOES work.

Anyone interested in taking your chances, PM me for a link.

You do realize it is impossible to do what their asking, you cannot take a site and in 7 days make them #1 for a certain keyword or keyword phrase unless it has 0 competiton. This is most likely a marketing data mining service to pull information about sites, webmasters, etc.

No ssandecki, they don't make your site #1 in 7 days, they make it #1 in 120 days and keep it there for 7 unless you pay. Oh, and I did sign up for this service. There's nothing to lose, of course I'm going to do it, I just don't think it'll work. But I'm trying!

I'll admit to being nosy enough to want to know what it's about, so I signed up - but just for a side-project, so if it is all a bit dodgy, it won't effect the sites I really care about.
    - though the keywords I gave them are so competittive, I can't imagine how they can possibly deliver - but we shall see!
And there's no need to pm anyone to get a link or an invitation - just look up 1on40.com.

I signed up both my businesses for it now. I don't have anything to lose, and they have a really well-made site. I doubt I'll get to the top positions but it may help.

I actually have a theory about it. I think that they know that some people will continue to do SEO work on their site, even though they signed up for 1on40 (I'm still doing SEO work, I'm not relying just on this). So those people get to the #1 spot on their own, but they think that 1on40 was what did it, and then they pay them for "their services". A lot of people wouldn't get to #1 but some would and that's how they would make their money.

I did not tried the service yet but the website looks professional and I heard only good things about them. No one can gurantee that you will be on the first position in google BUT you have nothing to lose.

    February 14th 2008 – Valentines Day
Corporate News: The proprietary software company Submit Expresso Group who own and operate the search engine submission service 1on40 has been approached by Search Engine giants Ask.com as a buyout. Submit Expresso Group has turned down the offer of over 100 Million US Dollars for the company as its intention is to list the business on the London Stock Exchange in August 2008 which is not only more beneficial to its founders but also to its clients and affiliates alike. A buyout at this time is out of the question as the value of the company will be tenfold once the client base has grown to 10 million as projected by its stock flotation in August 2008.

With the end of Beta stage looming at the end of March 1on40 is expected to see first gross profit of over £30 Million GBP which will establish it the main SEO in the world. Having established itself in hard to break market using a free Beta version will have added to its overall value which will be paid out as dividends to its numerous loyal affiliates in August 2008 on flotation.

I have searched the internet but didn't found any reliable sources related to this buyout. Real biz won't make this kind of venture a secret. Maybe anyone who wants to stay hopeful with this program should contact Ask.com.

Ask.com must be the dumbest monkeys to walk the earth.

Have a look at 1on40's SEO

Some of the worst optimization i have seen all year, duplicate Titles & Descriptions and if you go back a few pages you will see they have 100's of duplicate index pages.

I know exactly what they are doing, and how they are doing it... Needless to say i won't be signing up.

BTW Anyone got Ask's phone number?

Nice find Sweetfunny! Well, if 1on40 is resorting to tactics like that, I suppose they can't be trusted.

No I do not work for 1on40...just an affiliate trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. I do not think you will get hurt if they do not ask you for money until you get to the top on your keywords. Then you can decide if it will be worth the price to stay there. But I do understand everyone's doubt...it is a pretty big promise. But let's wait and see...there is always something different and better around the corner.
