Put out a relatively important update on the ad_network.php file today, so everyone should update theirs. You don't need to flush your ad_network_ads.txt file.

Gets rid of the class="whatever" signature. Should keep things like Norton Utilities and the like from blocking the ads.

Silly question, what was/is the class used for anyway? Seems they are randomly generated at first glance.

It would be nice to get some sort of change log or diff to look at when these updates take place. I'm using an ASP version of the network, I'm going to try just removing the class="" from the response.write of the network, but a better description of what changed would be helpful.

    Thanks

I think that you copied the new code for banner and text ads, instead of just text ads. ;)

Anyone have a site where they have implemented the new php code? I would like to see what the actual output of the network ads looks like with the new version.

    <a href="http://www.consumerdebtservices.com" class="bskj9f2d" />Debt consolidation online</a>

Is an example of ad I found usingnew code on Lifes-essentials-directory.com

So far the invalid class seems not to be removed and additional bits are inseted which makes pattern match by SE's easy to eliminate links.

    Hi Shawn,

My name is Barry. I am new to this forum and the co-op network as well. Is the ad_network.php update on http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/ad-network/setup.php?type=99, or where do I find it? Thanks

    Barry

Maybe because your ad_network_ads.txt file hasn't been fully updated yet. If you check your file you will see that new ads don't have the class="sumthin"...

I have a problem with ad_network.php code textbox. When i select link type i get "code" text in Setup Page textbox. I'm using IE 6 and WinXP. On firefox everything is OK, the php code displays itself.

Any chance of an email when updates happen?

Sometimes it's days before I return to the forum and don't want to miss something important.

    Thanks
