Hacking ADWORDS - w00t ?!?!

    Ok, here is the deal.

Today I made some changes to my campaign, so I search for the usual Keyword (The Most Clicked Keyword) in order to see my AD Placement and I see all these NEW URL's that I have never seen before, so I copy them into my browser, one by one...

All these sites redirect me to the SAME PAGE and I see the CB Affiliate ID on top... SO this affiliate has the FIRST 20 ADS on Google... 1st and 2nd page - only his ads...

I am not sure what to think about it, please comment.

I dont think google will punish him for this as long as he is paying more $$ to google for his bids.

    Black Hat SEO spamming.

It could be done like this. But there is other ways.

The person creates a lot of random pages with the selected keywords. When refer is google or any other SE it will see the random crap content with the selected keywords. But when a normal persons connects to the site you'r redirected to the "real" page containing the adds / affiliate links.

Download this User agent switcher for Firefox and set your agent to Googlebot/2.1 (+http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html)
Then try to browse those redirecting links again..

When google finds out the domain will be banned. And all random content pages is removed.

Actually it might not work. I know some of the more sophisticated tools also check the IP to be sure its really a SE accessing the pages

Yes it is a common technique for owning many Adwords results that Google is vulnerable too.

Can be done with one account - just set up different campaigns.

I'm pretty sure it is against the Google Terms so just head on over to Google help and report it and it will hopefully get rid of your competitor.

If Google doesn't do anything about it then just do the same thing.

    I will report him.

I wouldn't do the same thing because I prefer to go to bed with healthy consciousness. I believe that without competitors Internet Marketing wouldn't be as fun ;) It feels good to beat your competitors with clean, legal methods.

    He's unstoppable!

Seeing the same ad over and over again, the SERPs must look like a MySpace page!

He's probably creating new accounts in some automated way and just pumping them as much as possible before they get banned.

    Interesting,

This is common practice for the big moneymakers, and it is one of the reasons why many of the people here and on other forums are seeing their revenues drop. You can use every trick in the book, and when something works, they clone it into a hundred different sites, and often times they will dominate the keyword and it leaves little chance for the little guy with the little budget or worse, newbie. Tough market, and getting tougher every day.

    Good luck to all,
