I have two new sites go in. Had some other sites move about - some positive some not so good.

I see a lot of positive movement for one site. Thanks for the thread, now I know I'm not hallucinating.

I had that had been bouncing from #1-#3 for the past couple weeks drop to #30 yesterday. Have their been rumblings of an actual update at Yahoo, or does this seem like more bouncing, just more drastic (in my case)?

A new batch of sites had been completely ignored by Yahoo until today - BLs made a huge jump and rankings are now finally worth looking at.

This is definitely a real update. Not sure if it's complete - I've got one site old enough to be included in it that hasn't gotten as much of a boost as I'd expect and they usually announce them on the Yahoo search blog. So this might be a precurser to rolling it out completely (that, or my site just sucks).

in my opionion it usually takes 2 updates to really see rankings, the youngest sites I'm seeing jumps in are like 5 monthes old

There's definitely a lag time but I don't think you have to go through multiple updates. I keep pretty close track of my linkbuilding, and the last update (Dec. 15th) was ranking me for terms that I had been building links for roughly 2 months before that (that was the first update for that site). I think the data they use to do the updates is just a couple months old. In this update the data may be a little older - a site I started getting links for in early December isn't in there, and I'm ranking for terms on another two sites that had co/op weight only on them that was pulled in january or so. Then again, it could be incomplete.

Well, it's definately a significant update. I'm in a very competitive market and things have definately been shaken up. Although it was negative for me, I still count my blessings that I'm still found on from page 1 to page 2.

Does Yahoo seem to do these types of updates more often than Google?

Also, anyone else here anxious to see MSN do a solid update? There is SO MUCH CRAP right now in their results. All the Black Hatters are BANKING on MSN right now.

I'm definitely seeing some big changes for the better on yahoo since yesterday. Before that the rankings were pretty consistent so hopefully it's a real update.

Yahoo! is my friend. Nice jumps in ranking for my sites today. What a great way to start the weekend, and spring :D :D :D

Maybe now I can think about taking a vacation now. Of course, I can't, because there still that big G s-a-n-d-b-o_x monster to tackle.

    :)
Well guys I have been silently reading the posts on these forums for month and finally decided to voice my opinion. I got 9 sites all sites that are older than 7-8 month just poped out from yahoo sand box. So for very competitive words I have jumped from 61th postion to 4 and from 21 to 3 YAHOOOOO!!!!!

That is what I'm talking about :)
