Hi I am a London based freelance TV Producer/Director wanting to produce Web TV as a business. I have what I think is a cracking idea for a web tv show with lots of appeal for viewers and advertisers. I have the skills including editorial, scriptwriting, camerawork, lighting and editing to actually make it myself as a quality show but my dilemma is this. Do I: 1. Make the show stick it on the web - if so where - set up a site, video blog or put it on web channel that exists already? Problem: Takes a lot of unpaid time and to build an audience would need to make it weekly for many weeks before it goes anywhere with ads etc. 2. Approach an Ad agency/online marketing outfit with pilot and ask to partner them, share revenue, I make show (hire extra people) and they get the clients to advertise, plus I get money quicker to keep it going and pay myself. Against: they may steal idea, make it themselves or partner an established web video company not a newcomer. 3. Go straight to an investor and get money to set up...the get ad agency on board down the road..but would they get involved with a newbie? 4. None of the above! Maybe I am not thinking straight! Any ideas welcome. Thanks
