Marine Murder Victim - Military Investigative Process?

I have been following this tragic story. A missing female marine, now dead, alleging rape; with the alleged perp on the run after discovery of the woman's burned remains (along wth the remains of an unborn fetus) in the alleged perp's backyard. I was stricken to the quick by this:

Whether the pair were on "friendly terms" or not, she alleged the guy raped he, and the rape was under investigation. What the hell is this? Why wasn't a protective injunction issued, preventing any contact?

I've heard about it. I don't understand how she ended up buried in alleged perp's backyard.

She apparently was on "friendly terms" with the guy, and this was after the alleged rape. I just can't help drawing some conclusions, getting a tragic figure of a young kid, raped, not getting much help, turning to the perp, as molested children will turn to the molestor. He murdered her, pretty obviously, despite saying she came to his house and "cut her own throat" in front of him. Of course, after taking her own life, she jumped into the backyard and doused herself with fuel before immolation and burial.

He's going to end up dead, and sadly, he will likely take others out with him. I just wonder why, if a rape investigation was underway, they would allow any kind of contact between them. Whatever this girl said about a presumed "friendship."

His truck was found near raleigh, NC, in an airport (maybe trainyard, can't remember which) parking lot. I think the guy is already long gone.
