    Hey,
I think its about time I sell up www.WebmasterForums.net
The site does pretty well and I have just started trying to generate revenue from it in the last 3 or so months and it has done very well.

The site is a general webmaster forum and directory.

The sale includes domain, design and all site content.

    Site Description:

    Current stats:
    Threads: 8,649
    Posts: 26,111
    Members: 1,452

    Created: November 28, 2004

    New posts in Jan: 312
    New posts in Feb: 554
New posts in March (By 10th): 411

    New reg in Jan: 64
    New reg in Feb: 48
New reg in March (at 10th): 30

I know nearly every thread I have read for site sales have said about a site's potential but you just have to look at WebmasterForums to see it really does have a lot of potential to go a lot further than I have taken it.

The reason I am selling is I don't really like running these type of sites and I haven't for some time now, I have been holding on to it hoping it was just a phase and I would get the drive again to keep going at it, but I just can't get it.

I have been offered a nice contract deal to run a number of poker sites which I will be doing, so I will have even less time for WebmasterForums.

The only costs is hosting (I am hosting it right now and it could run on a shared server).

The site was converted from IPB to vBulletin around Jan when I got the custom design from WebRhino because they only coded for vB and I have never really liked IPB. Search engines are just starting to crawl the new pages.
The domain was changed from www.EvolutionD.com to www.WebmasterForums.net in 2005

Before anyone reads on, I do have a reserve and I will post here when it is reached, it isn't too high and I think it is good for a site of this calibre.

    Site Stats and Revenue

The site averages just under 1000 uniques/week - This is without one $ spent on advertising.
    www.WebmasterForums.net/temp/wmf.gif
    www.WebmasterForums.net/temp/wmf2.gif
    www.WebmasterForums.net/temp/wmf3.gif
    www.WebmasterForums.net/temp/wmf4.gif

The revenue is roughly ~$400/month and I have just got a few companies that are interested in doing longer term deals, which is a great thing instead of having to manage advertisers monthly.
I will get screenshots if the bidding goes above my reserve and people request it, I have thousands of transactions in my PP every month and I will have to go through and take out the ones that aren't from WMF.

    Included in the sale:

Custom Design and 2 logos: Custom design currently on the site and two logos. Designed by www.WebRhino.com who are a very well respected design company. Cost: Low xxxx
Domain Name: www.WebmasterForums.net and the old site domain, www.EvolutionD.com - Cost low xxxx (WebmasterForums.net)

    Contact and Payment Details:

    Email/MSN
    AIM: GlobalEire

    Payment:
Bank/wire deposit would be my first choice, preference given to bidders that can do a transfer to my UK bank account
Paypal also accepted but preference could be given to someone paying via bank/wire transfer

    Starting bid: $4000

Offer of $5000 has been made.
An offer of $5000 has also been made for BIN but I'm afraid I wouldn't want to close for $5k.

I will be closing on the 18th.

    Thanks :)

Are the revenues are generated from the text link & banner ads on the site, and if so, are they guaranteed to be contracted there even after sale?

Yes most of the revenue is from the text and banner links but I have been trying to get some longer term advertisers and getting advertisers that will make it a lot easier to manage.

Right now I have got a few companies that want to buy "package" deals, that includes a space everywhere on the site and they pay a monthly rate, both are interested in getting a 3 month minimum term.

New owner will take on these new accounts.

Advertisers that are paying monthly aren't contracted, they are just normal advertisers. The text links have a waiting list, the header is normally sold out and the button ads on the left of the homepage were just added this week.

Its very easy to get advertisers for a site this size because so many companies wanted to target this demographic.

How many active members are there?

I've seen that you did hire forum posters. Isn't that advertising?

Sorry but I don't know how to check the number of active members, what would that be counted as, posting within x weeks or visiting within x weeks?

No it isn't paid advertising...I have spent $35 on paid posting last month though.

I don't have a BIN in mind but I am happy to talk to anyone interested in offering a BIN :)

    PS. Nice avatar Peter!

Hmm call me crazy but I am seeing 55 indexed pages and zero backlinks in G.

    15 months * $400 = $6000 - That's a long wait. What percentage of these posts are, ahem, phony?

Sweet domain name anyways...That's worth a few bucks.

If you mean paid posts by "phony" then a few hundred.
The whole value of a site isn't in its revenue.

No I completely agree. I was considering buying your website just for the domain but $6k is a bit spendy for that purpose. I am sure someone will bite though.
