Two new things I've noted over at the seo chat thread.

1. adding &filter=0 brings back my sites
2. Firefox adds a bunch of gobbledygook to the url when i search and it shows new results without my sites. IE does not add the gobbledygook and it shows the old results with my sites back in place. See http://forums.seochat.com/showthread...839#post145839 for the details.

Basically, this is just one screwed up update that will hopefully fix itself in time.

hmmm this site cmd is interesting - here's what the datacenters say

http://64.233.171.147 = 110k
http://66.102.11.99 = 30k

regular search (from who knows where) = 102k

regular search on g.co.uk = 30.6k
then choosing "pages from the UK" = 46k

go figure..

Well I don't like this one. Thursday I lost about 40 places across the board for all my major KW's. Then either late yesterday or over night I lost 1000 BL's. Almost 1/2. Site command still comes up about the same but using the API key I seem to have lost about 10% of the pages indexed?? I hope this is temporary. If not I've pretty much lost all the gains made over the past few months. :-(

PS: Just noticed that many of the cached pages G is showing are old pages and have the infamous "Dec 31, 1969" date on them. Others have mixed dates from early 2004 up to the present.

Hmmmmmmmmm, the Gmonster up to some silly stuff here. I am showing cached results from months ago with the "Dec 31, 1969" on some pages as well.

I also can concur what Donna is saying about firefox. Why would they return different serps for different browsers?

Has anyone benefited from this madness?

Site cmd is same as usual for me..

*however*

I've a real estate site that's been in the red for a while now.

Suddenly it's green across the board. Almost everything is in the top 10 - surprising since we're talking over 250,000 discreet region/phrase combos. Traffic has jumped 70% (and climbing) as well.

I thought maybe it was related to MSN including beta results somehow (I rank no 1 for key real estate terms on MSN now, just as i do in the beta) - speculation of course, but little else relates.

I'm also in AU if that makes any difference.

Cheers,

JL

My site:www.mydomain.com has quoted over 1,500 more pages indexed in Google from the last time I checked. BUT my banklinks have gone down around 150, and keywords which have been first page for over 14 months are now shot outta the results and are 50+ rankings now.

I've worked my arse off in the last few days to get links thinking it was down to the 150 lost links. Now reading this thread I am not sure if that is the complete reason.

EDIT: BIG fluctuations in the results AND if you type in www.google.com I am directed to www.google.co.uk

ANOTHER EDIT: I've just checked the directory and that is showing me as a PR5, toolbar which I know is naffed is PR6. Either the directory is showing old PR or I have gone down to PR5, either so I'd not expect the big negative jump in the results.

Aren't these pages which will drop from the index?

90% of the keywords I track are back to normal (or better) again now!

Looks like Google's feeling better...

I was really surprised and of course happy to see a HUGE jump in a very popular keyword to #3 position in Google for one of my dating websites. This KW is also now in the top ten on all the major SEs. WOW!

One of my other sites went way down though. Google giveth and Google taketh away!
