I have always used norton but is there something better out there? I think i had a go at kopernikovs AV or something along the lines but a few years ago it just looked cheap.

I use Zone Alarm but it's slowing down my PC.
I'm thinking to go with AVG.

I use CA EZ Antivirus. I used to use Norton but found that the first thing viruses try to do is disable Norton so I switched. It seems to catch just as many viruses and isn't nearly as slow as Norton.

Zone Alarm is probably the worst one in terms of... false alarms... Especially in the middle of your online game or something.

I use AVG never any problems... AVAST is also good....

I used Norton since the old DOS days until Norton 2003 then I had nothing but troubles with it and Live Update.... So I went with AVG...

Norton Security suite tends to cause problems with Firefox and other things so I use Sygate as a firewall and have Spybot, A-Squared, Ewido Security Suite, Ad-Aware & Spyware Blaster handy just in case....

My new computer came with PC-cillin. Now I have to either use or make other arrangements. Any thoughts on it as an antivirus?
