Today, I am selling one of my new proxy websites completely based on it's layout, website compatibility, traffic and a little revenue.

This website runs on a blend of Glype, PHProxy (Modified) and CGI Proxy (Modified).

This means that this proxy website is FULLY compatible with major teen-visited websites like MySpace, YouTube, Orkut, Facebook, Bebo and others too.

You will not find all of the above features in ANY single script except for the ones for which you have to PAY for. Any potential buyer should be aware that the main script being used here is actually copyrighted and permission to use the script is granted upon download of the script, subject to the terms of use. As the copyright owner, I have revoked any implicit permission to use the script previously granted to the seller (karan265). I hereby extend this revocation to cover any use of my script on the website listed, unblockport.com and as such any new owner of the site will not be permitted to use the script.

I don't get your point here. I mean come on anyone can just go to glype.com and download it. He's not claiming that the script's his or he coded it. The site has a note in the footer:

Yes I saw that. And while that still contradicts what you claim to be selling and yet again violates the terms of use, it's much easier and quicker all round if I simply say: I own the copyright to the script and I've revoked permission for you to use it, as I am perfectly entitled to do "for any reason".

The actual reasoning behind it is irrelevant to this topic which is why I did not go into them.

I feel sorry for the buyer (if indeed there is one) but adequate warning was given and I will now also have to pursue him/her and have my script removed from this site.

So to sum up, you do not have permission to use glype on this site nor it is permitted on any future sites owned/setup/sold by karan265.

Do you have a personal grudge or something against me?

Or are you just plain jealous that I am making a nice profit out of selling proxy websites of which your script, "glype" is a part of.

I will not stop using the script since it is a FREE one and it is OPEN-SOURCE.

^^ Now, PHProxy and CGI Proxy are BOTH open-source scripts and are free to use/modify/replicate/reproduce and even resell. Now I (and thousands of other webmasters) have sold proxy websites using PHProxy and CGI Proxy and never had even a single problem such as the script owner coming to us and stopping us from selling websites that use their script.

So if you really consider Glype to be a good alternative to the above mentioned scripts, you shouldn't be having any problem with me or anybody else for that matter, selling websites using the glype proxy script. Please stop behaving like an amateur here.

Though I have nothing to deal with karan's biz but what I can percept is you are just expecting karan to PM you and offer you a share of profit he made.

 

I don't know how many more times you want me to explain but free to download does not mean open source.

The reasoning behind this is quite clear if you take a look at the current "Similar Threads" section. The original topic was attempting to sell a very slightly modified version of the script and was consequently (and note, not just by me) made clear that this was a blatant violation of my TOS and as such, illegal. Most people would stop at this point. Instead the seller goes on to create not one but numerous topics, this time selling the exact same thing but rebranded as a "site" and with a domain included. This is now the fourth time he's sold this exact same "site", making it very clear that he really is selling just the script but in a different way which he believes is permitted under the TOS.

 

Sorry rodney88, but I don't think I'm gonna stop using the glype proxy script on my proxy websites atleast in the near future, simple way to put it.

Like it or not, but it's a free script and it should be free for everybody to use.

And once again, it's not a free script. Read the terms. It's copyrighted and permission to use it is given if the terms of use are adhered to. As the copyright owner and as stated in the terms, I have the right to revoke your permission to use it at any time and for any reason.

In actual fact I have a very good reason anyway, that being you violated the terms by attempting to redistribute it (and at the same time, charge an extortionate fee).

If you are stopping karan, why don't you bother to stop others. There are hundreds of people doing the same, or if you're so bothered about your script being indulged in website selling why don't you just put up a licensing system on your script

 

well does glype supports orkut ? because i have used glype on my current proxy website i was unable to make it work with orkut may bethe guy made some changes to make it work with orkut ??

 

Glype solely does not support orkut at present.

My script does not only use glype, it's a blend of Glype + PHProxy (Modified) + CGI Proxy (Modified).

Each script supports a set of different websites.

Sorry, I assumed you knew the difference between free to download (as in the most common usage of the term) and free software (as in open source).

I don't have the time to explain it but perhaps you should look it up? As clearly stated on the download page in the terms of use, it's not free software and you're not permitted to use it. End of story.
