This forum used to be great..

    I remember when the Aff Marketing forum here was all about well, affiliate marketing and how to do it better.
    Now it seems that every second post is someone promoting their affiliate program. Perhaps there should be a seperate forum for "promote your affiliate program" or something.. :rolleyes:

    I'm still new here, but I agree. There should be a seperate forum for promoting affiliate programs. I dont' want to look at all that stuff, I just want to read the AM info out there. It's still a great forum though.

    Yeah, it has been taken over by people marketing their programs, a seperate forum would be great. Perhaps one where you wouldn't get warning for replying to posts advertising the programs.

    It's happening all over DP.
    If you see a post that belongs in Buy, Sell, Trade - then report it.

    It's spamming really. They are posting their own affiliate program or website when starting a post which is against this forums rules. If you are replying to a post with your site mentioned as it is likely to help the person asking a question then that's fine shown by DP's rules, but starting threads advertising your own program or site is not allowed here.

    I agree...this forum is starting to lose much of its value because of all this spamming going around.

    I don't visit the aff forums much, but I do see 40% of the new post and threads should never been posted. :(
    I try reporting the ones I can, but I'm only on the net a few hrs a day, not to mention the time it's taking away from the mods.. I hope something is done soon, I wont be leaving, but would like it to weed out all the free and under 50$ offers.

    good luck DP

    Agree. It was only a few months ago that this was a useful forum. Now it's overrun with spam. What happened to the mods?

    I kinda think the very fact that you can have aff links in an aff/marketing forum PERIOD is to blame. Perhaps a smart business move for DP re more relevant traffic/members however I too have seen the decline in interesting topics/discussions, the real core of the community shining... I find myself in dejavu with creative non-intrusive pitches most days, and try to answer/participate only in positive threads usually posted by newbies.

    Perhaps, in order to have a sigg or live links at all
    * More posts before you get priv.
    * Must own a domain that is not a landing page
    * Must pay?
    * Must get xx rep
    * Must pass a newbie test of some kind

    All in all though this forum is still a great place, just wish the mods did a little more clean up.
    NC.
