Boldness Of Threads With New Posts

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by digitalpoint, Mar 1, 2006.

In case you haven't noticed, thread titles are bold (just like before) if you have never read any part of the thread (first post basically).

For threads that have new posts (but you have at least read part of the thread), they are still bold, but have a slightly lighter color.

Input/suggestions on improvements regarding it is welcome...

Yup, better than the reversed and italic phases it went through during testing :) I like it since it allows easier organization to the eye.

What do you think about making threads with new posts back to "normal" bold and then making completely new threads black? Think it would be any better?

I prefer "normal" bold...This actual colour difference has lack of contrast from the viewed topics colour in my opinion.
New threads in black? No problem with that, give it a try! :)

Since all other links are green, I think the way it is offers better continuity.

the idea is great, but the color was a bit strange at first, too many different green colors, but I think I'll get used to it.. ;)

I think its actually very good, nice on the eyes, and makes you see when you have already reviewed a link or not. :)

Okay, what about now... threads with new posts are back to normal bold and completely new threads are a darker green (almost black, but not quite).

I preferred the previous way. It was more intuitive (faded out = already visited).

The thing I didn't like about the faded out was that if you didn't pay close attention, it looks a lot like the normal (completely read) threads.

I like it and its something that will become more useful as we get used to it. A lot of the most useful things are the small mods that we don't even notice but use all the time.

When I view unread threads, either in a forum or under 'new posts' some of the titles are very dark green (almost black) and some titles are a medium green.

Is this new, if so why? Or do I need glasses or am just very unobservant?

***I posted this as it's own topic before seeing this thread, where it has been moved to now. I may be daft, but not as daft as the post makes me look when it's in this thread;)

Even at first i thought i had to start wearing my glasses again. :)

I am using the blue colored theme for my profile, and it looks fine to me. I never liked that green color anyway.
