I think it's time DP had an exclusive sub-forum with limited access. There's a lot of spam in the form of "advice" and people trying to abuse DP's popularity to promote their own sites.

    I suggest three exclusive sub-forums:

    • Business sub-forum
    • Mindshare (or bouncing ideas, sharing tips etc...)
    • Lounge

To gain access to these sub-forums members would have to either:

    • Pay a one-time fee (say, $50)
    • Be members for over a year and have more than 500 posts
    • Own a website that receives at least 1,000 visitors per day

    With these:

    # Be members for over a year and have more than 500 posts
    # Own a website that receives at least 1,000 visitors per day

The same story will still happen, except from specific members.

I'll stick with the fee only instead.

    Peace,

Diagree to both of these, I'm not paying $50 to where?. I'll support through visting a sponsor, but not that. And the 500 posts rule, and 1 year, won't work,. He'll I'm new and there's still members with higher stats that continue to post thier website review in adsense, and reviews section every two weeks, and yet THE SAME people keep posting nice work, etc. when nothing changes. It's like a big chain for everyone to get to the top, if there should be something done, It should be stopped. Adsense Placement should be the ONLY Place for person site links, General Adsense should contain ZERO links, the rest of the forums should continue to follow, to prevent this, bans should be given out, and the warning system should be dropped; PM warning or Infraction first time, second time goodbye for a few days. Following strict guidelines with relaxed moderators, can really change DP.

Yet, I have to follow this up, for example: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=610345 Is this not in the wrong section yet is allowed to remain on the forums; None of the members, say hey bud delete you thread wrong section, they continue to post in it; yes to all the idiots posting in that thread [no i did'nt look at names], why are you letting the forum get spammed up?. Attn, we should have ALL/MOST members saying SPAM, blah, blah, and telling that user there post is bullshit. That in general solves most problems when the users respect the forums.

Hey but wats wrong in promoting their site.. every one has right to promote their site.. if somone has some query about his/her site then where would he/she go... DP having so many talented members here is a good place for solving all our queries .. Limited access in DP will result in loss to forum only.. nvr mind
