Yahoo Pushes Content with Automatic Wordpress Plugin
Quote:
for Wordpress that finds shortcuts from other Yahoo content as you type your blog entry. I was a bit hesitant at first, but after taking a closer look, I really like the concept and potential behind this new tool.
Once added to your Wordpress backend, the Shortcut tool will “collect” recommended content as you type. A module will appear on the right side of the Wordpress editor page, displaying how many recommendations it has for you. Click on this module to go to a separate preview page, which will underline all the terms it’s found content for.
If you mention a location (i.e. Paris, France) Yahoo will suggest a map. If you choose to add this map, it will be automatically included in your post. That means no copying and pasting code–just choose how you’d like it to be aligned. Other terms, such as a company name, will suggest stock ticker information, and the tool will also pick up on the theme of your entry in order to pull a stream of suggested Flickr images that are available for you to use.
That means that the recommended images have a public use Creative Commons license, and the tool will also include credits for the image used (something Lane Hartwell should be happy about). Again, no code for you to copy and paste. Options for adding a Flickr image let you choose the size of the image as well. If you’d like to search for more images, there’s a search tab included in the Shortcut tool as well.
