Google to detect explosives?

Very interesting partnership between Google and H3tec. Here's the article: http://www.marketingpilgrim.com/2007...echnology.html

Quote:
Utah-based H3tec has spent years developing its new technology, which can detect any element or compound up to two miles away. But it looks like this new technology is going to pay off in other dividends as well. After running a full-page ad in USAToday in October, they’re currently “gaining traction” on a deal with Google.
Maybe they'll work that into the Google Mobile, Google Earth, and Google Maps.

Rofl, is there really that many explosives out today that you need a common citizen to carry that around to alert authorities? Oo

Sounds like a good idea.

Use an existing network that exists practically everywhere (mobiles) to give authorities pinpoint location of explosives. Perhaps a bit big brother ish though.

Imagine you're on a plane. You're happily flying along and you decide to call grandma on your snazzy new H3tec phone. Suddenly it picks up explosives somewhere on the plane!
