My penalised directory ranking again in google!

Discussion in 'Directories' started by madtay, Dec 10, 2007.

My Smart URL Bidding Directory has started to rank again in google for keywords and its own name which it hasnt done since it was penalised months ago around the time many others where.

    google.co.uk search for:
    smart url
    bidding directory

Has anyone else noticed any other directories that were penalized are now ranking again?

    no change for me no
I think yours might be back because maybe it shouldn't have been there to begin with? dunno but I had one site that definitely shouldn't have been penalised which wasn't first for its own domain but eventually appeared back after weeks
they are probably fine tuning something

Oddly enough I have a non directory site that was ranking very high for at least 25 key search terms that seemed to be part of the penalization that has now started to return in the serps. I never sold any links on this site but I did buy approximately $20 worth (big site budget - 99% were free links) in total.

Who really knows what goes on in the innards of little g...

Mikey, maybe his "sin" was less than yours and Zorglinks needs more time to recover. Still, nice to know things can get back to normal.

    Well, Congratulations!

Just be careful and stay low for some time for your penalty to settle down.

Zorg is a good directory and will be back soon :)

Thats great news! I hope this will happen for everyone.. Maybe Google finally realised that it was not a fair thing to do..

If they want to stop link sales permantly they will have to come up with something else then penalising some sites.

Google doesn't *have to* do anything. They get to make the rules, like it or not.

I'm not saying I agree with G, just stating fact.

    What's going on?
