Thats amazing i just payed the internet guy ( they come to my house everymonth to collect the money ) and lol this month i just payed 80 000 VND which is less than 6 dollars !!!!! My old internet provider ( i used 1 month ago ) was 25 dollars a month ( it was the same connection as the one i have now)!!! With my current internet connection i download at 120 kbps and upload at 40 kbps. I download 2 or 3 movies a month and a lot of musics, i upload a lot also on my web servers. Just 6 dollars ( and with the VAT ).
That seems to be a bit high, which connection are you using ? At home i am paying $15 per month for a 128kbps unltd line. I just switched my provider in office (Reliance Broadband), they are providing great speed, line is 2 MBPS, and am paying around $100 per month for 22 gigs of data transfer!!! A friend of mine who is in LV (Las Vegas and not Link Vault ), is paying $100 for i think 10MBPS line (unltd use) which includes TV and phone charges i think.
I have a option of Satyam which is for 15$p.m.(64kbps ultd) and 30$p.m.(1200INR - 256kbps ultd) But the problem is regular Disconnection and Breakage of lines. So i took a Local Broadband called VoxPop Connection. I Fear from companies like Reliance bcos of their Hidden Charges
Well, i had satyam for an year, but they really suck, mine worked only like 20 days a month. Disconnection is their regular feature. At home i am using Airtel, they are providing 128 kbps unltd. @ around $15 per month. Download is something like 15-20kbps, which is good enough for home usage. I never had any billing problems with airtel or reliance, i have bandwidth monitoring program installed in office, i have told them i would not pay anything you overcharge for bandwidth (i.e if figures of my b/w program does not match with yours), i have 22 GB of data transfer allowed per month, never exceeded that over the line of 2 MBPS.
I was paying the same for 256k conection but i phoned them saying i wanted to quit and they offered me this nice promotion
£22 (about $38) for my 2mb line..... Well, I am in UK, everything is dear here.. a SDSL line is about £199 a month exc VAT lol.. So, we suck..
Damn, a 1 litre carton of decent fruit juice costs more than 6 dollars here. I pay £29/month ($50/month) for a 768kbps down, 256kbps up. Although where I live in London, you can get 8mb for free (1p/minute), $20/month with meter, or $40 for unmetered.
Total net bill currently is about $170+ and I have the crappiest internet you could imagine... Direcway satellite $100 'absolute crap' Wireless DSL $45 'also absolute crap' Dial up back up with phone line $25, what do you expect it's dial up...
£26 for a 2 meg connection for me from nildram, its good though you are allowed to download 50 gig a month, but they didnt throttle my connection speed when i downloaded over 100gig 1 month. From the prices some people have been mentioning i dont think the uk seems that bad. If my exchange could handle it id be able to have an 8 meg connection for the smae price
