Selling *.rssplanet.com

I have quite a few sites hosted with subdomains. I have the following subdomains already being hosted: http://resources.rssplanet.com (expected PR6), http://weblogs.rssplanet.com/google/ (expected PR5/6), http://promos.rssplanet.com (Expected PR5/6). I am willing to sell simply the domain alone or with the content as well.

For the domain alone, I'm looking for offers in the high $xxx range. If you want the content for all the sites, I am looking for a low-mid $x,xxx range. Traffic is decent and the directory already has a lot of links in it. Could pull in a lot more when featured links are sold ( I haven't marketed it very well yet because the pagerank hasn't updated yet ). The promo portion could be used for many different things and right now I have it setup for webhosting promos/referrals. The only site I've been tracking stats with is weblogs.rssplanet.com, which gets around over 300 uniques this month, so there's a little traffic.

How can you acquire such a high PR in one month's time? I know sites that have taken years to reach that level. Also, given the common opinion that PR prediction tools are unreliable, I don't think you will be able to use that prediction as a selling point until it ACTUALLY IS that PR. Just my 3 cents.

Regarding the price or value... I would recommend posting your revenue earnings for the past 6 months, both gross and net. That is the only good way to tell the value of site these days. Potential, prediction and promise is a thing of the past.

Actually, the domain has been active for over 7 months, registered back in Jun of 2005. I'm not basing those purely on predictions, but I'm using the Live PageRank tool in Firefox which provides RealTime PageRank values instead of the periodic exported PageRank values. Nearly all the subdomains for rssplanet.com are PR5 or PR6.

Thanks for your recommendation, but I didn't ask for your recommendation. The domain alone is worth quite a bit because of the way the RSS field is moving. I don't need any luck, the sale will come as it comes because of the value of the domain. If I don't sell it, I'll continue to develop it further as I already am right now. I am already developing it I just thought I would try to move it off the shelf and start development of another site. All offers are welcomed -- please see above requirements.

 

Can you provide the last 6 months of gross and net revenues? That will help with the sale I am sure.

 

There hasn't been any revenue because I have developing these sites ad-free. The directory hasn't had any featured links because I was waiting for PageRank to update since that's whate everyone else looks at. The traffic for weblogs.rssplanet.com was posted above and I provide a screenshot if you really want. Are you even interested in buying this domain?

 

I don't have that kind of extra money to spend myself. I was just providing advice. From what I see on this and other boards around the net, anyone buying wants to know revenues. Especially if you are asking for $X,XXX range.

It might be a good idea to run ads, sell links, etc for a few months. Then re-list it. By then, you will may have a better PR, revenue history... etc. Definitely makes it more appealing to potential buyers.

Probably due to the fact that you have no revenues and you want $X,XXX range for the site.

I like your site, and found it interesting to read the posts. But it will take a unique buyer with the knowledge you have to keep the content fresh and updated moving forward. That is what is keeping my interest at bay. Well that and the price.

Actually, I get all the news from RSS feeds that I have in thunderbird and I just consolidate it all to one blog. The high range w/ content is because I have spent a lot of time and effort into all of the sites. After the next pagerank update, I expect for this to be a lot more valuable and I'll take it off the market probably. I'll sell some links in the directory and develop the sites some more, so this is really a short-timed offer.
