Hi, everyone. When I originally signed up for PayPal, I used my dad's name. Well, actually his name is William but I used 'Bill' because that is what he goes by (but he does use his full name in his bank account, of course). I entered his last name too, but I have the same last name as he does. Anyway, I'm going to add my bank account to my PayPal account soon, since I am not able to spend or send any money without doing so. I know now that your name on PayPal and your name in your bank account need to match - I didn't know they when I'd originally signed up. I've gathered quite a sum of money that I have worked very hard for doing work online and selling advertising and doing transactions on my blog, but I'm not sure how I can add my bank account if the names are different. How do I contact PayPal to change my name and prove that I am the same person? I know I was stupid when I signed up, so please don't scold me for that now. I've already smacked myself in the face numerous times for it - all I need now is help. Thanks. EDIT: Oh, and BTW, my account is a business account since I do use it for making money online and selling advertising space on my website.
goto paypal and click on help where you can see contact us. on the contact us page, you will see the phone no. or you have a option to contact them through email. if you use email, then it is going to take 6 to 7 days for them to reply you... but yes you can change your name inside your paypal and the address to make sure it match your bank... all you have to do is contact them first and wait for there reply... normally they will let you do this without needing to send any proof. but i am not sure through... anyway, the paypal contact page is here https://www.paypal.com/row/cgi-bin/helpscr?cmd=_help&t=escalateTab . i guess your account is USA.
When you use a Paypal Business Account, make sure that the name on the bank account reflects your business name otherwise you might not be able to withdraw them. If you do not have a registered business then you should opt for the Premier Account instead. It has the same features as the Business Account but you do not need a registered business for this.
Yep Most of the people when Signup in starting do not know this thing but anyways you can contact Paypal using their contact us page and then you can give them details. You can also submit your documents while you contact them

I will try to contact Paypal and request the account's first name be changed, and if I want to switch from business to premier account (because you're right, I don't have a registered business), I will let them know that as well? I appreciate everyone's help. I'm definitely not the most skilled when it comes to Paypal.
