Hi all, We are all into marketing here so I assume we are also all keeping track of our site statistics. My current server is a windows server running plesk software which only come with webalizer stats which I hate due to their lack of detail. I have had awststs on previous servers which i really liked but cant figure out how to install it on the new server. What statistics software are you all favoring? Are you using software hosted on your server or an external service? What are you using and what is the most affordable and practical solution. P.S. I have an like statcounter but it only holds 100 entries....upgrading is an option but it seems like for the price you pay to upgrade you still dont get very much. Thanks in advance to anyone who reads/responds. You all rock.
Well if you can get into Google Analytics it should be more than enough for your purposes. I've been using it for quite a while now, and I must say it's extremely detailed and thorough. I'm very happy with it.
If you liked Statcounter, you'll really like Google Analytics. It's the best I've tried hosted or offline. and I've tried quite a few. One of the more difficult parts of web analytics is resolving the locations of your visitors. Many will log all AOL visitors as coming from Virginia or all MSN visitors from Washington. Google Analytics seems to be pretty good at this giving a visitor map that looks like a population map (as it should). It's hard to verify the absolute accuracy, but it's among the best at it.
I haven't tried Google Analytics but as of now, new signups are on invitation basis only. I have been using Sitemeter and have been pretty happy with it. Their free version gives you access to last 100 uniques (not page views). That must be sufficient for small-med sites.
I haven't been able to find invitations for analytics. Don't know if there given out like gmail's were or handled internally.
im sure googles analytics are fantastic...unfortunately they arent letting people sign up due to high demand...any other suggestions out there? Thanks again.
I am also waiting for google analytics. You sign up to the waiting list and wait for your invite.........
did that many months ago.....don't want to get old and grey waiting for something that may or may not ever happen.
likewise i love awstats too but cant figure out how to install it on my plesk server....my old cpanel servers had it built right in.....does awstats offer a remote service?
I'm using urchin which is basically the same as Google Analytics - Google bought urchin to produce GA. Some hosts provide this - I looked for one that did. Somone else just posted a link to statcounter.com which looks pretty good as well - pretty thorough and free for up to 250,000 page loads a month. http://www.statcounter.com/ Didn't have too good a look at it but i'm sure others can vouch for it.
