Unique Proxy Promotion Site - $15 per day

The Problem
Web proxies can be really useful. The only problem is that they tend to go offline pretty quickly. These websites can take up a lot of server resources and sometimes webmasters can't cope with the demand and give up. There is also the problem of network admins banning the web proxies they find to stop their users from accessing blocked content on their network.

The Solution
I decided to sit down and think of a way that I could make sure people have access to a number of working web proxies all the time. I decided that they would need a daily updated list. There are literally tons of mailing lists out there so I wanted to do something a little different. This is when I conceived the idea of a web proxy RSS feed.

Introducing.. the Daily Web Proxies RSS Feed
There is now a way that people can easily access a daily updated list of new web proxies with very little effort. Each day I publish a number of new links to my RSS feed that my users can subscribe to in a number of cool and unique ways. Finding working web proxies will never be easier.

Users can access my links in a number of ways:

• Directly through their browser (Firefox's Live Bookmarks)
• Integrate my feed directly into their homepage with iGoogle
• Traditional News Aggregators
• Web-based Aggregators (Bloglines, Google Reader, My Yahoo! ..etc)
• On their mobile phone

The potential here is massive

The beauty here is that all my users opt-in to receive this service. You can't force someone to subscribe to an RSS feed and you can't fake Feedburner stats. The great thing is that all my readers are guaranteed to be checking my feed multiple times throughout the day. This makes the feed an excellent advertising platform.

Completely accessible. Our subscribers get our content in many different ways. Some of them prefer to receive updates via email, some prefer to access the links directly from Firefox and some people even receive links to their mobile phones. One way or another our subscribers can always get our content.

Get syndicated. Our content is often syndicated by others. Your links will be visible on other prominent websites in our niche. We provide a useful service that can add value to other websites and pages. Proxy websites, Squidoo lenses and our subscriber’s home pages can all syndicate our content for free.

Currently the site recieves 100 uniques per day and ranks #1 for search terms like daily web proxies and daily web proxy. It is also slowly but surely starting to rank for highly competitive search terms like web proxies and web proxy. The feed currently has 61 subscribers which is great. The feed is also being syndicated on other websites such as aplusproxy.com.

Earnings
For testing purposes I ran an experiment that lasted one week where I looked for advertisers and charged them for spots on the RSS feed. I opened 5 spots each day and charged them from $5 to $1 depending on their order. For example:

1) $5
2) $4
3) $3
4) $2
5) $1

So, if you can promote your service to webmasters correctly and sell all your spots there is an easy $15 per day you can be making!! From promoting my unique proxy promotion on DP I easily made $15 a day for this week.

I have decided to sell the site purely so I can concentrate on other projects.

It is a great site with tons of potential which I am sad to be letting go. However we all have to move on

Check out this link from a thread on DP. Basically documents the "experiment" that I mentioned above.

Some people were extremely happy with the results (and could see the potential) whereas others could not.

I just really don't have the time to continue promoting this website and it is a shame. Someone will be able to pick up this site and give it the attention it deserves. It is an incredibly useful service to people who use web proxies.

There are only 61 subscribers at this stage, yes. However this number is steadily increasing all the time.

However you must take into consideration that the number of Feedburner subscribers isn't an accurate representation of the "exposure" links featured in the feed will receive.

I think it's an interesting approach, but I can't justify the amount you are looking for based on something so new and and a lot of assumptions are being made on where people are actually getting traffic from.

I do not intend on bashing your sale, please don't take it that way, I think it is a novel idea but I don't think the price range you are looking for is realistic. I am interested if you want to PM me an asking price.

Nice site... but if the blog is using wordpress script why no have the backlink to it?

I read all your post ... and I don't see a lot of sales.... The price of a site is X month income...

Can you pm or post here any screenshot of the total income per month... I also read that some part where not very satisfied with the promotion of their sites.

Is a nice idea/ site ... but ... I don't think is 5000$ worth. I'm semi interested but I was thinking in ... 100$ aprox considering the time that you need to promote the site and the very few earnings.

Basically the feed consists of 35 items. I update it with 5 new items (links) each day. If you offer each link or spot for sale and sell all the spots for a day using the pricing model above you will earn $15. It's just a case of rinsing and repeating. The more you promote the site the more you will be able to charge

Total income per month if you sell all your spots using the pricing model above is $420 / month. This is if you using the pricing model that has been referenced above.

Also just for the record, I am not looking for offers of around $5,000. This was just what many perceive the value of the site to be based on earnings. It was just a guide to the potential of what this site can achieve the state it is currently in.

The link I referenced above was to the weekly experiment where I offered spots on the feed for the sale. It was a huge success with a many people who brought spots returning. It is all about how you sell yourself

Let me also say that the blog theme alone cost $100.

The first that I said is that having a wordpress theme without a backlink to it is again their TOS

Ah, now I understand jackdomain. The Wordpress link can be added that is a 2 minute job. Thanks for pointing that out actually I never noticed. The guy I hired to create the theme must have overlooked it.

The income is $15 a day. $105 a week. This is based on the experiment yes, but there is absolutely no reason whatsoever you can't be earning that OR more. It is just about how you promote it. Your purchasing the framework, the infrastructure that will enable you to earn $15 a day easily. Great opportunity
