I've been browsing through the settings in the Google Sitemaps account and I've noticed a link in the "Try New Services" section: It stood out from all the other links because it was the only one all lowercase: http://www.orkut.com and at the bottom it says "in affiliation with google" I was wondering if this was new because I've never heared of it. Could this be a Google attempt at something like myspace and social community type sites ? P.S. I've tried logging in with my Google account and then it asks me for my orkut account, to "link the accounts together" .. it seems someone needs to invite you in... Invitations anyone ?
I don't even like the sound of it. I've noticed orkut in my google acct, and went there. Dissapointing is all I could say.
Orkut allows only 1000 friends to be added And server is pretty slow when brasil wakes up " No Orkut/ donut for you.. Bad server "
Its a socializing network.. u get to make new frnd, meet old classmates.. and stay in touch with exisiting frnds
75% of orkut users are brasilians, the reason being .. Photo sharing is very popular in brazil.. Check any category, the the community with maximum members wud be owned by brasilian and for brasilians.
It's a socializing network. people make there profiles and can add friends by inviting them. And ya almost everone seems to be brazilian(it's not that I am complaining, there are lot's of hot brazilian chicks in orkut with there pics *woohoo*). Sometimes I feel that google people have put those profiles to lure other(read horny indian males) people. @anusha- Hi Anusha the name looks indian. you are pretty good looking and have a nice smile
Orkut has been here for months. It is a social networking website, ie you subscribe then invite your friends who in turn invite theirs, etc... So you are up to make new friends. Well, I signed up at the beginning but have not login since ages. Server often down, the invitation system is not obvious, not user-friendly interface... It does not offer more than any other networking websites.
