Banned for giving negative reputation...

Is it normal to be banned for giving another member a negative reputation? This is my first post in MANY months...heck I don't even want to participate here but found it hilarious that I gave a person a negative rep...next thing I know I was banned. I don't really care..months go by and finally unbanned and I see I neg repped a "team leader"...haha...that's awesome.

So ...exactly what rule was broken where giving someone a negative reputation is an automatic ban for 5 months?

If it's someone posted on this site I would like to see it because I can't find it.

Yes I realize my bitching might be fruitless. My post might be deleted and I could be banned once again. God knows the powers that be at DP are overly concerned with their own power. Since when was it required that moderators must "like" the member base?

If I do get banned....guarantee that I will be making a stink about it this time...if just for priniciple. I am not someone's rag doll that can be punched around for their amusement. I will gladly name the moderator but I am giving them the chance to have some balls and explain their actions. Ahh screw it...

There ya go. You should be able to figure out who got a negative reputation. I don't even know or care who the "leaders" are here...they aren't leaders of anything if you ask me.

That's about one of the most immature responses from a "leader" I have ever read. This is SUPPOSE to be a professional webmasters site...there isn't anything professional about that kind of response. So my response was to give him a negative reputation. That's my Shawn Given right here at DP. Of course Crazy Rob responds with a ban for 5 months...wow.

F it...waiting for new ban now because I know I won't get a mature response.

and i guess 5 months is for more than just a neg rep. and i dont think Rob even checks his Rep. so i would think it had more to do with other things, and the rep was just bad timing

my guess is that your constant bitching about DP is why you got banned. making threads like this sure helped

 

Nope you are wrong. I had not posted on DP in 13 months...however I did visit here and would occassionally give a rep. So you are 100% dead wrong about why I was banned. You have a bad attitude toward people too..I just gave you a neg rep before you even posted in this thread. I can see that your only concern is making yourself look more intelligent than others. You are one of those big ego people I was talking about.

Constant bitching??? Hardly. I went 13 months without a single post here...just lurking. I will gladly go back to lurking once I have been heard. It was wrong for Crazy Rob to ban me for giving him a negative reputation. I expect ...no I demand answers as to why I was banned. I want him to have the balls to tell me exactly what rule I broke and why he is beyond getting a negative reputation.

I waited 5 months for this answers. I didn't bitch to Shawn. I didn't create a second account. Nope...I am STILL playing by the rules. If I get banned again...so be it. I asked for my account to be deleted in the past...that's how much I value this site. The amount of fraud on DP is outrageous and I won't participate at a site where fraud is not addressed with full vigor. It's been proven time and time again that fraud is the problem of members and moderators won't interfere. As a matter of fact...DP enables fraudsters. If you try to expose a scammer..you risk infractions which can lead to a ban.

But whatever...this ain't my site. I don't like most of the people here. This imho is one of the worst webmaster communities around. It's less of a community and more of a disjointed collection of misfits.

#1 sitting here and not making any posts and just handing out red reps when you feel like it for 13 months is an abuse of rep in my eyes. which is more than likely why you was banned, if you never posted in 13 months and was seen to be handing out red reps, then i now understand why your ass was banned. it's called rep abuse and it is against the rules
#2 DP staff are not cops, lawyers, or copyright investigators, they can not possibly see who scammed who and who is the better at photoshopping evidence.
#3 people do work behind the scenes to track trace and report scammers spammers and dupe accounts but looking through post history for the evidence. that takes a good few hours each time. and action is taken. mods do not have the time on a huge forum like DP to babysit everyone thats spat a dummy out (pacifier)

i dont like you either, but you get a red rep for this thread you do nothing but complain about the site yet wont take an active part. who needs people like you here?

No, people don't get banned for rep issues unless they are abusing the system - ie leaving rep with someone else's user name.

If you don't like the forum and don't want to be here then don't visit...pretty simple.
