Even stranger is that Jerry Yang is from Taiwan, and Taiwan isn't on the best of terms with China.

This sounds like a case of yahoo trying to play the middle man and get on good terms with everyone.
True they dont have the same weight as Google but they should at least be holding up a little more of their users privacy. Brad
