Chat with your friends from right inside Gmail. There's no need to load a separate program or look up new addresses. It's just one click to chat with the people you already email, as well as anyone on the Google Talk network. And now you can even save and search for chats in your Gmail account.

We've started rolling this out to all Gmail accounts, so yours should have it soon. It's good to chat

Do u think that first we have to install googletalk software in our PC to use this service.

Yeah, when I clicked the 'Chat' item in my gmail menu this morning, it said to install Google Chat. Hmph.

Like I need another messenger program... Argh.... It will be interesting to see what neato features are incorporated into it though!

 

Wow, this new instant messenger system from Google sounds interesting. This is also the first I've heard of it as well.

 

Its not new.

Nobody is using Google Talk which is already out so Google is trying to add more features.

Let me pose a question to Google: If nobody uses Google Talk, who are you going to talk to?

 

The Voip quality of G Talk is far superior compared to Skype so it certainly had potential. And by using Gaim, you don't have to choose IM anymore. You can have it all!

 

Very true. whenever I have to talk to someone over VoIP, I get him to install GTalk. The quality of the sound is sooo much better than Skype or Yahoo Messenger

 

Im happy with msn, who is gonna switch all their contacts to google just cause google is slightly cooler? As long as msn doesnt give problems i dont see a reason for many people to change.

 

Basically its the same as email, only they gave it a different name. A nice new feature tho.

This is _not_ new, it's been around for a couple of months now.

I run msn, icq and GTalk at the same time. But I like GTalk more, although it's not very populated.

 

Heh, that doesn't really bother me, the FBI can't arrest me anyway.

Seiya: 100% agree. As long as my friends are on MSN, i won't consider changing even in GTalk or GMessenger is the best thing since sliced bread.

 

I hav implemented this kind of facility on flash for a socializing network, sounds nice!!

 

I read this thing today when I signed into my gmail account. It sounded like google is going to have some sort of chat rooms. It would be cool as hell if they had chats but I dunno if thats what they're actually going to do, I hope so.

 

Msn works just fine, but I will give it a try to this new chat.
