hi all, in this topic : http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=538440&page=2 i had a problem with Lethe. he paid me via paypal. i moved the domain. i gave him a + itrader. he gave me - itrader then paypal started investigation. i tried to solve this problem via paypal but i cant. paypal made a refund. i mailed snapnames. they started an investigation and moved the domain back to me. i thought maybe paypal did something wrong. maybe lethe was not a scammer then i found this : http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=530558&page=2&highlight=lethe in this topic 2 other member of this forum saying that he is a scammer. so no doubt he is a scammer.
Yes, lethe is a scumbag of the lowest kind alright. Offers the BIN for my domain, pays through Paypal, I leave him good itrader, then he initiates a dispute for the funds that he paid only 5 minutes earlier. Luckily, I didn't push the domain to him. Stay far away from this idiot if you don't want to lose your time and/or money. Here is the my thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=530558&page=2
i opened this topic to warn you. he got nothing from me except a good itrader rating. but 2 forum members send me red infractions at this topic, reason "Attacking/Harassing Other Members". really dont understand you guys...
He's got a Red Rep now so maybe that will warn people aswell, unless he gets banned before his next chance to scam.
I feel bad you lost your domain but you need to use some common sense when dealing with that kind of money. This member was brand new, you was his first iTrader. You should be more aware of who you are dealing with and check them out before dealing with them for that kind of money.
worse... i am warning you he is a scammer.. and mod's giving me red card instead of banning him. i got my domain back. after now i am using escrow. no paypal.
mate,i know how it feels when one is scammed but you can't start a public decision against any member. You will receive infractions for it. You should always deal with him personally.
This is getting a serious place for scammers to carry out there jobs... there should be some kind of verification as ebay has to verify the buyer and seller...
The problem is, the person who is being scammed falls for it too easy. Look at most scammers, they are either brand new or make such outrageous claims that could not possibly be true. If you watch the posting habits, you can tell a scammer right away. A scammer relies on the greed of the person who is being scammed. The person being scammed does not take the time to check the the person they are doing business with. As for verification, as you can see on here, eBay is also a place for scammers. There are people on here always looking to buy fake credit cards or verified eBay accounts so they scam people. It boils down to the fact that it is the person's responsibility to know who they are dealing with and the only way for DP to eliminate scammers is to close down the buy and sell forums. Even this would not stop it because then the transaction will be done in PM.
