Did business.com also change it's outgoing linking structure so it isn't static links to the websites or has it always been like that? Instead of having a static link directly to the sites listed business.com now does some sort of redirect. Maybe because of the recent Google spanking? I'm not sure if it has always been that way, but I'm pretty sure it was static/direct outgoing links before.
From what i could tell it was a 2 way redirect - to one site which then redirects to the other. I think its probably for stat tracking, but i dont think google can detect that as a backlink.
Check it double before posting. Only for sponsored links redirection is used. Rest of listings seems to be static with additional js for stats tracking.
Thanks for posting. I'm seeing a mix of both static and redirect links for paid listings and static links for non-paid listings. Looks like my listing there expired 2 months ago. Strange that I never got any renewal notice. Hmm....
wrong! you should follow your own suggestion and look twice before posting. paid listings are redirects and not static.
the non-paid listings look static but once you click on the link and look at the URL in the new window you will see it is different.
I'm sorry man - but you're missing something... Starting thread you didn't write of paid, non-paid listings. Also me - didn't write about paid or not paid links. Just what they have on site: 1 - sponsored links (redirected) 2 - listings (static) So another suggestion: when starting thread be more detailed...
No, the non-paid listings are static. There is a javascript onclick in the link and the links are wrapped in a DIV with more javascript, but a search engine/spider sees a static link. Check out the source code for the page. I just logged in to my business.com account and saw this: The multi-links were the only reason I considered a $149/year (renewal) listing worthwhile in business.com. I won't be renewing under the current set up.
