If you get a Yahoo Directory Listing - Yahoo Chooses your TITLE and DESCRIPTION - Fine, but if you look for your Yahoo SERPs listing - you will STILL see their Results
Move over to MSN and you will see YOUR Choice Considering the recent controversies over a Yahoo Directory Listing - would it help if YOUR Choice was honored on their SERPs? |

Why use different titles and descriptions?

well you have paid them to think (maybe) and do something...
when they do thats what the result is. Quite natural to make sure something is declared the same way in ones sphere of influence. Why should there be a difference between dir and serps if Y has decided this is what one does / sells / etc. M |

...there were concerns expressed by Webmasters and SEOs that - their sites were not getting any of the different keyword combinations that had been coming up on MSN and Altavista (even taking account the different Algos)
The theory has been around for some time - that Yahoo's modification s will limit the other keywords that you would have come up on different searches /SERPs for.
