"Really? What site are you referring to?" "Hmm... weird. That's not my site." "Uhm, no." Then she hung up on me... nice.
I had a call from the Yahoo! Publisher beta program asking if I thought it was reasonable to wait 40 days after the end of the month for your check.. I told them no that another big company pays after three weeks of the end of the month.. then I got the check from Yahoo a couple days later Eric
Don't you just love those calls. Hire people on a PPC (pay per call) basis to sell PPC (pay per click).
i got a call today too. some lady offered me a cupon for yahoo ad center. i told her no. i said i can get .01 per click from google while yahoo demands .10 min. the sites i advertise done really generate money for me so to spend .10 per click sucks..
Well you would have thought that the lady calling would have actually at least researched your site and been able to give you a domain name. Thats rather pathetic, Just think if she had have looked into it and actually known she was calling digitalpoint. Then perhaps she might have gotten further. I guess they are working off a purely numbers game here, call so many people and so many will say yes, and the rest no. Brad
Pretty much every person I've dealt with at Yahoo!/Overture has been rude and uninformed about things.
I knew you were popular but I had no idea you owned the internet. I wonder what would have happened, if you told her you were interested in advertising the "internet" with Yahoo. Al Gore will be very upset when he hears this... since he invented the internet.
Classic case of Mass Marketing. At least they should control the calls to the most known webmaster forums such as DP. Some team manager of that particular callcenter shoul've controlled it at least. Well, leave them be
Now that is pretty funny. I have heard a few good ones on mass marketers, but not one such as that. She was probably being fired right on the spot for not being any good at her job anyways which is a good thing for all of us who hate those annoying cold calls.
