Someone owns MSN for sure... Look at this:
If you take a closer look, you will notice that nine different domains have the exact same recipe and text build up.
It seems that MSN doesn't care too much for content dupe filters yet, or..? At least it seems obvious that one person is operating all nine domains. Not doing much good for the SE user to find nine identical websites listed as number one to nine.

Yes I have seen this numerous times on MSN. Silly, isn't it? I emailed MSN every time I have found this and they haven't done anything yet.

do you guys really care about MSN?
It's such a waste, join all link exchange programs and rank number one quickly, but it's useless - no traffic at all!

Respect! But seriously, it does sound like a bit of a waste of your valuable time writing emails notifying them about this algo-behaviour. I would suspect that either they are already working intensely on modifying the code for next "update" anyway, or that they just won't care until public opinion puts enough pressure on them to make changes. It's probably not that easy to change anyways. Maybe if we all took the time to post findings of this sort of misbehaviour in order to publicly announce the shortcomings of the MSN search engine. Do you think that would help any? I mean, we are upwards of 7.500 active members in here, last I heard. |

I get a few hundred visits a month from MSN on new sites.
Not near the number I get from google later, but also not "no traffic at all" |

http://whois-it.com/www.kold.com http://whois-it.com/www.kron.com Actually it looks like they all have different people registering them from different TV stations who syndicated the content. |

Yes, that tactic works on google too. You can have 100% identical content as long as the registrant names differ. Seems to be a nice little flaw in the system

So dupe content filter can be circumvented...

I find that hard to believe. Can you - or anybody else - clarify on this in respect to Google versus MSN and Yahoo? |

I can't see Google basing there duplicate content filter on regristrant info....most duplicate content isn't from the same person, it's from various website owners using the same articles, etc...
...I'm sure it's Google's intention to stop not just the registrant from using duplicate content but ensuring that results for all sites aren't using the same content. |

Mike, I do consider MSN to be one of the major players. Even getting 10% traffic from them is 10% more than I had.
Talking about owning searches, search for spyware removal on msn. Top domains are type of format. Never checked it out, but I bet they are owned by the same people. Quote:
