I received an email notification for the PM but its not there in the inbox, don't know whats going on
If you need to read the PM, you can always go to your e-mail which you have used to reg. the acc with and read it there. It should show up as long as you have e-mail confirm on.
I also have a slight issue with my post count not the same as the one in my profile lol I think it was because I was posting during the server glitch.
I am able to get new PMs, but I have three that are lost somewhere - I turned my email confirmation off unfortunately so I have no idea who PM'd me
Is the PM you got a notification on not existing in the PM box at all? What's the date/headers on the notification email?
Yeah, I know the counters are a little whacky right now. Mostly looking for anyone that has a notification for one that they actually didn't get.
That happened to me, what happened was the servers messed up, we could still do stuff on the forum but it wouldn't show up (for that period of time) but now that numbers are showing it but nothing else is...I got e-mail notifications for the pms I missed though.
Yep! the PM is not there in the inbox and I received the email notification for it. I contacted the sender after going through the notification email and he confirmed that he sent me a PM. The date/time on the email reads - Wed, 7 Nov 2007 14:37:48 -0800 (PST) and the subject - New Private Message at Digital Point Forums Have a look
My PM box saying "Unread 4" I've checked my email inbox, I can't see those "Unread 4" PM there. So it may be just the PM counter problem. EDIT Sorry, There are 4 PM email notifications, which are not showing in PM box here.
Okay, looks like the PMs are there, they just weren't replicated down to the DB servers used for read access. I was planning on taking down the DB servers for a few minutes (probably this weekend) to do a full clean push of the master copy of the databases (which the PMs seem to be intact on) down to the slave (read-access) DB servers. So you should get the ones that went missing (that were sent when the weirdness was going on), they will just be delivered a little late is all. Planning on doing it this weekend when traffic is lighter (since it will require taking the forum down for a few minutes).
thanks shawn for this quick response. Yesterday, the whole day im opening all my PM and check if any missed look PM, unlucky im still got 2 unread PM. Hope you can settle it since it so annoying for me
