I had a thought - rare I know - but this directory/link management assistant would do the same and you could get multiple use out of it just set it up so that it doesn't require reciprocals http://www.onlinemarketingtoday.com/software/link-management/
I'm using the onlinemarketingtoday script at my site (see sig) but there are certain limitations to editing the source etc, and I doubt you're able to make a classified script out of it..
You can get a free classified ad script *site* from: http://www.google.com/search?q=free+classified+ad+script http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=free+classified+ad+script Now if you don't find ANY, simply make a complain at http://www.google.com/quality_form?q=free+classified+ad+script&hl=en&lr= OR http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/ysearch/?fr=sfp respectively...
I have tried many scripts over the last few months and one of the best I have found was called "xzero" just google it and you should find it. There is a fee payable for it, from what I can remember it was $99 but it does have some good features.
Just to add to my other post about xzero script. There are other scripts available from these sites: needscripts.com hotscripts.com script-o-rama.com simplyscripts.com scripts.com These site offer free and paid scripts. You could also try scriptlance which is a site where you can tell the audience what you want your script to achieve and someone who is capable of creating it will get back to you. You can then negotiate a price. I personally wouldn't recommend adbie scripts as their support is poor taking too long to get back to emails and having too many flaws in the scripts themselves. I used one of theirs for the site below and had nothing but trouble with it. www.yehboosearch.com Indexed by google for a few weeks then BAM! Nothing at all. Either banned or Sandboxed. My sister had more success with the same script as she is more php savvy than myself, using it as a test for a child friendly search engine but even this was dropped from google. www.yehboosearch.net Our whole family is involved someway or another with the internet now developing each of our own sites under different catagories and often trying out scripts of one sort or another. My best advice to anyone before buying any classifieds script is to check the demo and admin panel thoroughly and look at all the features, make sure it offers what you want or at least is written in a programing language you understand and can manipulate easily yourself. Read reviews of the script off of the site which is selling it and check out any testimonials from other buyers.
I am looking for a good one too - I do not want a scroll list type I want the front base to be interactive and easy to navigate for users. Good thread guys exactly what i was looking for. I am gonna give xzero a go. Looks simple, user friendly and with some customising could be a really clean end product. Support forum looks reasonable to. BTW whats with all the smart allick comments about searching google??? Idiots with nothing better to do. This thread returned 10 times better results than big G on this occasion. Hope it helps someone else as well.
