I've been working on my site for the last couple of weeks (http://planasite.com) and now I think i have enough content to start advertising. I want to build up some targetted traffic. What do you guys suggest I do with the money and my time to build up some visitors ?

Don't play around with Adwords if you don't know what to do; you might as well flush that money down the drain.

Use $10-$25 to buy something useful; setup a contest on your site and post about it here/other forums :)

You can add site to free directories and pay for some others. You could aslo use paid search to get instant traffic. I would add url to directories then use paid search and text links.

    I hope this helps.

I would generate traffic by focusing on linkbulding.

First you could Social Bookmark your site and use a service like SocialPoster.com to save some time and it cost nothing.

Please make sure not to only bookmark your sites. You'll only be hurting yourself. The key to social bookmarking is to only bookmark sites of value.

Submit some articles. There are free and paid services.

And if you want you could also social bookmark your submitted articles.

Next get as many back links from relevant sites as possible. This is free to do yourself. It's just boring, I usually hire this out to someone full time for less than $4 an hour.

And of course you can bookmark these sites as well.

If you follow this plan, I'm sure you will be happy with the results.
