Im thinking to start and sell proxy hosting and would like some advice?

What do you think is decent price for these packages:

    Package 1

10 addon domains, 1gb space and 50gb bandwidth

    Package 2
20 addon domains, 2GB space and 100 gb bandwidth

    Package 3
50 addon domains, 3GB space and 200GB bandwidth

Also do you think they would give users a good range of packages

And would it be a good idea to provide a 7 day free trial of my hosting to people or would that just get abused

Also would you trust me. I would make any stupid promises ad would try to be honest as possible because i know i wouldnt be able to host super big proxies nd would just go for medium size ones and the newer ones

    Thanks

I am not qualified to give you prices, but I am looking for a host for my new proxy. Would be willing to promote your service in my sig if you could give me a decent price.

I am also interested in seeing the prices. I remember paying 30USD for 6 month proxy hosting to one of the DP members. The guy was banned since and his servers do not respond to requests anymore... so I need the new home for my proxy.

If the server fast and good uptime.
-Your package 1 can be set at the price of $5 a month for 2 or 3 addons domains only. I think it's not good to give many addon domain for proxy host, you can sell it as additional one. You know some good proxy hosting company selling 3 additional addon domains for $3 a month and still having many customers hosted on their server.
    -package 2: 10 domains 100GB should be $10 a month
    -package 3: 20 domains 200GB should be $15 a month

    Package 2
    Can host 10 domains
    2GB space
    100 gb bandwidth

    $10 a month

    Package 3

    3GB space
    200GB bandwidth

    $15 a month

Extra addon domains available at $1 each

How fast is that? From whom did you take that hosting?

@ Simon: Keeping the trust and quality should be your main problem. Pricing doesn't matter always. :)

It will also depend on the service you will be offering. If its premium quality with great uptime, support and service then those packages are about average price from my research. Prices can drop from there. Maybe you can offer a discount to a few people to start your service to get some feedback. A good rep goes a long way!

I think i will go with the prices i suggested at post #6

I will also offer a 2 day trial where only one domain is allowed and only 1GB bandiwdth but it will give people a idea of the quality

Then if they like that they can sign up for a full one

Does that sound fair then people can test it tehm selfs

    Thanks

IMO a two day trial wouldn't necessarily represent quality of the host because it could be up for the two, then down for half of the third day or a different scenario.

yeah but that cheap isnt that good

I havent seen his service or out and cant say bad abuot it but in most cases people who offer that much cant survive

Maybe for shared hosting for normal sites its easy cos nobody uses much banwidth but with proxy sites they do so its hard to offer that much for that cheap

    Thanks

I'm not sure how long or if a trial would be ideal. I was just inferring that because a host like DH has been good for me for the last few months and then all of a sudden they had multiple "down" days, a two day trial may or may not be enough to prove quality.

i agree just thinking if i did a long trial people might use it and hav no intention of payin for hosting

what about 3 days, its more than most companies offer for proxy hosting

You can go with the post #6. But also depends on your service. Quality come first, speed and uptime. You may have lots of competitors. You can lower the price, but like i said for professional proxy owner they want quality because they will loose visitor if it's slow. I agree with killafawk said, yes they are cheap, sometimes $1.95 a month for starter plan. But you know it's suck. I have some experience with proxy so i know it. Currently i'm hosting with a company for $10 a month with 5 domains and 80GB. I'm happy with them because it's fast even also some downtime.
You also won't be success if you have bad starting. So be carefull.
I'm not good at hosting buz but maybe just an idea for you.:D
