Hi, Google has introduced a new feature for its Gmail users. Enable your IMAP feature in gmail settings and follow the instructions. You will now be able to handle your gmails on your desktop applications like Outlook. See this link:http://www.downloadsquad.com/2007/10/23/gmail-gets-imap/
This is finally worth waiting for ! http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2007/10/gmail-supports-imap.html http://www.labnol.org/internet/email/synchronize-gmail-emails-outlook-express-labels/1615/
I know that outlook has been able to get gmail msgs before this.... But what is this really, is it primarily for cell phone email??? Im not too sure on the subject....skimmed a bit but didnt quite get all of it...
Finally see IMAP 5 minutes ago on my primary account!! YES!! I was login, logout, login, logout 100 times for 2 days Still no IMAP on one of my Google for Domain account.
great post, I didn't realize that option was there until I saw your post. Glad to see G' is catching up to the times. . . pop3 is so dead
Very cool, but I don't use my gmail account a whole lot so it won't be much use for me. I mostly stick to my mail hosted on my servers but I know others who forward all their mail to gmail control so this will be huge for them.
So what si so great about IMAP compaared to POP3? I was using pop3 of gmail and dont plan to use imap..
I did not mean that. This is a good thread but i want to know if there is any davantage of IMAP over POP3 since replies were too much positive..
