Marketing to Sell

• Take your time and have patience
• Don’t bother selling if your Post Count is low. Low can mean less than 100 for example.
• Don’t try and get your post count up with rubbish like. “I agree with you” ( for the sake of Post Count increase! It’ll get noticed!)
• Offer something free always before you start selling , builds up a user base who’ll respect you.( sometimes! )
• Offering it free the day before hand wont work , again , have patience!
• Use your signature links wisely. Refer to rules above.
• If you really want to push something before you start selling, find DP’ers with high Post Count and Good reputation that will sell you their Signature space temporarily ( with a link to the DP post your selling on)
• Remember that Guests outnumber Members ( you’ll see in Member sample presentation below ) so keep in mind that there’s pros and cons to asking someone to PM you for more details in place of providing a Url where the product/service can be purchased.
• But also remember that you cannot ( and will receive an infraction! – happened me!) place affiliate links in your Posts ( ok in Sigs )

Timing is everything.

I’ve done some research on this and found some peak times here at DP.
Behaviours of a forum dictate that Posts beyond the 1st page will disappear into existence.

So getting your Post onto DP forum in front of as may eyes as possible is paramount.

I took a sample ( with some help!) of # of users online from 348am PDT 15th October to 615am PDT 18th October.



Ive also placed print shots of the maps at all those times which is available online.

So essentially with this sample ,choose very carefully HOW , WHEN , WHERE , WHY !

Ive had a PM or two saying im repeating stuff already here..
I was posting the Rules all in one place cause you should know them if you are selling here!! And read them twice!.

Some of the Threads on buying and selling that are stickys are just genius.. so included them too.

The timings research is my own work and thought it might be interesting to others...

I always wondered why I wasnt getting responses with threads at DP...
