Take a look here this very heavily promoted and marketed BID DIRECTORY site is for sale http://www.sitepoint.com/marketplace/auction/14117 There has been a lot of money invested in this site, it will be very interesting to see how this sale unfolds Good Luck to the Seller Please avoid disparaging and personal attack posts as the Seller has invested a lot of time and money in this site ! Constructive comments welcome :-
Best of luck to the seller and hope he'll get BIN there. Currest highest bid is $1,500. Good going. DON.
But why does owner wants to sell that site? it is important to know that. Does any one know that reason?
Lance put this up for sale around 2 weeks ago. I have spoken with lance a lot over the past few weeks. It was me who brought him to directories, showed him mine, even I introduced him to aspidov who actually ripped him off slightly. The morons on DP and the whole negativity showed towards bid directories was the reason he decided to sell. Anyone wanting a bid directory is in the right place with this. The homepage bids will likely cause some high bidding in the future, lance sponsored loads of themes including 2 phpLD themes of mine, so i expect backlinks to continually grow. Lance also has submitted to paid directories, and bidded high on all the major bid directories like blaze, cdh, WDL, zorg links, bid uplinks, skephi etc. Its all set up the new owner just has to keep things going...all the hard work has been done. Best of luck to lance, i think he is visiting relatives in hawaii at the moment Just a shame he arived at DP and on the directory scene at a bad time, hes a nice guy with good business sense and would have contributed a lot here and to the industry. Hard work and clever investment made him stand out
Here, here Mike thanks for that and you too are a stand out member of DP and long may you continue to contribute here
As I'm one of the biggest critics of bidding directories I assume your calling me a moron? So regardless of the fact that it was originally asked not to bring the thread down because the seller has invested a lot of money into it I'd ask you to apologise for that remark as I find it highly insulting. Failing that I'll simply come in and tell you MY personal view on why I think this person is selling, and that might have a negative impact on the sale. See, critics of bidding directories AREN'T morons, we are just people who have different views which we're fully entitled to.
TP, i didnt mean you. You back up your beliefs with facts etc. Its the people who give no reason, the ones that get jealous of how well the owner is doing, how much more revenue it can bring. The ones that go "they are a waste of time" etc and give no reason why. Anyway, this thread is about lance selling his site, no about who believes what about bid directories. as for the "morons on DP", those were lances words too.
The owner certainly put a lot of work and cash into the site, here's hoping he realises a decent sale price reflective of his efforts.
Aw Bless, along comes the 'Adult' with the words of a babe! Now correct me if I'm wrong you superstar of the internet, and all knowing Oricle, wasn't you calling me childish the other day? Um, pot calling the kettle black maybe. @uttersorenson, really sad at you there, I never had you down as one of the peanut throwing gallery, my honest advice, don't get dragged down to the levels of Anon, it don't suit you and won't do you any favours, he isn't as popular as he likes to think he is, you can trust me on that one. I'm not going to respond with any flaming, or banter, it spoils this forum so will just wait for a decent common sense post and reply accordingy....
No it's pot calling (as you would say) FACT. Now, pot calling the kettle black would be along the lines of: Kind of like your sig; You promote phpStynx directory script, but yet, 'TheOrangePages.com' is run by phpLD. Got it? Good! End of story.
