New Scam - WidgetBucks, WidgetSucks, BlogBrush, Ring a bell?

    WidgetBucks or … WidgetSucks?

A new scam appeared. I hold no reserve on labeling it a scam. It tempts bloggers to play ads on their site to products from major estores. They use product feeds from Amazon.com and other major online stores. Do you know the Amazon affiliate percentage? Read on.
Why I label it a Scam?

I'm really prompt in labeling it a scam. Why? I checked out the site and the moment I saw the 'bucks widget' in action I knew it was feeding Amazon.com products. Never clicked it:) Then I started to look for the next best thing: What's in it for me? After several minutes of searching I noticed they never say how much they give back. They only say something about 10% on referal fees?
I also notice a Hype pattern reminding me of BlogFlush which aquired a huge number of backlinks according to Yahoo!.
They expect people to signup without knowing how much they will make? Cute! Let's continue. They state on the FAQ section :
How much you earn depends largely on your site's traffic and content. A number of publishers who have tested WidgetBucks are seeing a $3-6 CPM.
3-6? per 1000 impressions. You can make 100s of times more with direct Amazon.com referal links. You can make way more using AdSense … am I missing something?
    It does look good:

I'll credit them for the looks. It looks really nice and could make you site 'cuter' but the looks is not all that matters.
They nailed the design and they diserve some appreciation for this win.
    They can't pay you nothing!

Amazon.com offer a 4-7% percentage of purchase as affiliate income. If you have a special deal you can't go over 10%. I'm pretty sure. Most major online stores go below the 10% limit. If they make 10% and give you 30% you will end up with about 3% … which is pathetic. But the CPM trick mentioned in the FAQ can allow them to pay you per impression and 3-6$ on 1000 impressions is … more insulting then spitting on you.
    Deal directly with Amazon.com!

Go to Amazon.com, signup and promote products using their widgets and make some real money. If you see this doesn't work go for Google AdSense and you'll get way more in 1000 impressions then the WidgetBucks (WidgetSucks) widget.
    It's free advice …

… take it or leave it.

It would be better if you remove your affiliate links in your post.

First off they are still in beta I hear. Also your logic seems WAY off to me. I have never heard of any one making "Way more" than $6 CPM with AdSense. To my knowlage the average person using AdSense gets less than $0.25 per click. With a CTR of 2.5% you would get $6.25 per 1000 impressions. I would love to earn $3 CPM on my arcades.

If you look at other threads in this forum you can see screen shots of peoples earnings with them. An average of $0.16 per click from what I have seen.

I still haven't seen Google stating what their percentage of your earnings are.

If they are using affiliate links in the ads that isn't a big problem with me. I would actually prefer to get paid per click than CPA. I have tried CPA and made $1.55 from 500+ clicks.

I don't mean they are fraud. I just meant they offer way too little for what they can make. It's rip off for you!

And I really HAVE A PROBLEM with an entire page from my site copied here!
Please add a really visible link to my page on top of the post before I request some support on this forum from management!

    Regards.

This thread is ridiculous! The thread starter is promoting WidgetBucks in his signature. Great way to get referrals, I guess. There are better ways, ya know.

How do you know they use Amazon.com to feed ads? Do you have solid proof of that? What about Shopping.com? Doesn't it make a little more sense that they use them as the major ad feed? Think about it.

Only time will tell what will happen with this program. It is brand new, so you have no solid proof that it is a scam.

can you link to your site too?

also, considering that they pay you PER click and they only get paid PER action, there is a huge difference.

From what I gather, the OP copied this from another site. And that guy is now angry that he did without a link back.

They get paid per action and you get paid per click!!!!!
Why not get paid per action yourself?

Get products from Amazon.com and others on site and work for yourself not to get others rich.

@Lordi: YOU, having the mentality of easy very low income with 0 effort, diserve your faith!

Any proof of what you are saying ??

PS: Widgetbucks uses flash for its ads and not everyone has flash on his computer so it may lower your impression numbers ;)

I had them on my forum, even though they REALLY slowed down the loading of the site until they started displaying image not available.

Today I decided to give them another chance. Loved the fact that you could now choose colors and ads keywords. Now I just looked at the forum. It took exactly two minutes to load the home page, all because of widgetbucks. Then I got the image not available thinguie whilst, at the same time, pictures of items with numbers rolling under them were displaying in the middle of the header. Once it finished to load, there was an enormous white rectangle in the middle of my header, with one image on the right hand side and nothing to say this was supposed to be an ad.

Needless to say, I took them back off. I will wait until they get their script working properly before I try again.

PPC is not bad at all, but more often than not the script does not work.

Again, how do you know they are using Amazon.com? Do you have proof of that? There are other shopping networks that have a pay per click model rather than pay per action ya know.

hehe, This really made me laugh

Anyhow, About the topic, You can't just accuse a company of being a scamm company when you have no solid proofs, Your post also make no sense at all to be honest.

About why not use directly Amazon, Because Amazon is a Pay per action program, WidgetBucks is Pay per click, There is a big diffrence between those two.

I've also never heard about someone who makes 3-6$ eCPM from google adsense (without fraud clicks) So please don't make up facts.

For further infromation about WidgetBucks you could check out this thread:

    P.S
As the title on their site sais, They are still in Beta version.

LMAO NO PROOF of it being a Scam.

$3 - $6 CPM is spitting in your face - Haha that's funny, you haven't been a webmaster long have you, that's actually pretty Good.

I my experience a CPM banner will only receive between 10 and 20 clicks.
Goto Adbrite or AVNads and see if they even get close to $1 for 1000 impressions - it's more like 20cents.

Not even worth anymore effort or wasting my time here .... maybe I should just copy and paste other peoples responses - your pathetic Copy and Paste effort is insulting and worse than spitting in all our faces.
