i have a primary domain name... http://www.ryancanfield.com and i have a few addon domains.. i just switched to a dedicated server and that was about a week ago. my addon domain appears as primarydomain.com/addon/ but now my addon domain folder is being picked up on google instead of my addon domain... so now my search engine traffic is about the same but now instead of google searches going to www.addondomain.com it goes to primarydomain.com/addon/ do you understand what i'm saying here? i don't know what to do!!
Hi Ryan (i assume that is your name ), Having a little trouble understanding your post. Is your addon domain a completely different site??? If so you will need to go into your apache conf settings and create a new vhost/alias for this page. If its for the same site and is just different content then the /addon/ path might be getting more links than your root url. If youd like to reply again and elaborate bit further ill try and give you some more tips. Maybe post the specific URLS you are referring to. Hope this helps.
yes my addon domain is a completely different website... i don't have any backlinks to ryancanfield.com/addondomainhere/ so i have no idea how it got picked up but take a look here: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...esult&cd=1&q=pokemon+myspace+graphics&spell=1 #1 result is my main domain but it used to be http://www.myfungraphics.com... now my main domain: http://www.ryancanfield.com with the subdomain folder is #1 and http://www.myfungraphics.com is being pushed down further.. (#8 on that page) ps. please do not post the URL of my addon domain URL... i don't want a backlink to it.. should i set up a re-direct and somehow block SE's from going to ryancanfield.com/addondomainhere/? or would that screw it up..? i just don't want to start getting all traffic to that site via the main domain... and thank you so much for your help -ryan
