When submitting to directories, is it necessary...

    ... that the link anchors are not always the same?
    ... that the descriptions are not always the same?

    Or is submitting to directories not gonna be viewed as natural linkbuilding by SEs anyway so those two things above doesn't matter anymore?

    Not necessary, but certainly recommended to use different anchors from time to time. As for description, that's usually not a problem. It has the potential to lead to duplicate content filtering for the directory, but usually not an issue considering the other listings in the directory.

    Yeah I have been turned away from a few directories using my Gmail but once I resubmit using my domain email all is well.

    Changing anchor text and description for submission brings better results in terms of link building IMHO.

    Make sure if it is a tough directory with tough competition you include your site name.

    eg. Google - Internet Search Engine

    rather than, Search Engine
