Hello Everyone! I need to send a dollar (US $1.00) to someone in India who has a bank account but no credit card. He says he can't receive funds via PayPal because he has no CC. He suggests a wire transfer, which probably costs quite a bit. I may want to send him added funds in the future if a business venture works out well, but for now the balance due is just a dollar. How can I reasonably do this transfer?
huh, if someone know something better then this, he is a very informed dude: http://www.moneybookers.com He can make wire transfer from this service and you can pay with visa for example. Great service. Great way to transfer money in "far away" countries. regards, Nemanja
How bout this? You pay me by paypal. I pay him in India by Money Order which costs me 5% Extra. No probs for that.
Ikobo.com looks the best so far for my purpose. They issue a prepaid Visa debit card worth $7, for $10. The cardholder is hit with numerous fees monthly maintenance fees, ATM, etc.), but if you spend all the money at a store within a month there seem to be no fees. There is a shipping fee of unknown amount. You can reload the ikobo card over the web from your own credit card.
all you have to do is signup at http://scriptlance.com for an account(its free) and then you can transfer money to other scriptlance members via paypal. scriptlance plays as the middle man, not sure what they use to pay the people on the other end, western union perhaps? But thats what i do when someone lives in a no paypal country.
In the US and Western Europe, a dollar isn't considered to be very much money. In India, the average family income is about 100,000 Rupees a year, or $2000 per year. So, in his terms, I owe this fellow the equivalent of about ten dollars. This is an amount which most Americans would want to collect and not just let slide.
I use www.remit2india.com for sending money to India and they seem the most efficient to date for my needs but its usually around $100+. I had a few bad experiences with moneybookers when money went missing and my emails/phone calls were ignored for around 4 weeks.
1 USD is around 44 INR and thats not a big amount at all, any DP member from that particular area will settle it for you. Can you tell me which city does he belongs to ? Is he in Mumbai, if yes, I will pay him on your behalf via a check on to his bank account number. And yes, you need not pay me anything for this For larger amounts, our friends in US use www.remit2india.com
Hmmm.. I am not sure about the average indian pay scale being USD $2000 techie earns far far more than USD $2000 and also tell that indian guy(who I am sure is a noobie) that paypal DO pay to indians via cheque. They will charge USD $5 for making that cheque so sending USD $1 is waste of time and effort and seriously INR 44 is nothing  And such people who are working for USD $1 are bringing the market down
Ok, I have a link for you ... There is a nice article for sending money to india http://www.mumbaisuburbs.com/articles/send-money-online.html
Anyone can tell me what % is paypal is charging as a transaction fee? I hope Saving account (Debit Cards) will not be accepted by paypal. One must have credit card to have a transaction with paypal. Iam not aware of annual fees for holding a credit card for this purpose. As per my experience Client's prepare to pay their dues and transaction through paypal channels. This provides an easy way of transaction records to update their day to day transactions records. Any Indian Member of DP who is familiar to the paypal transaction can please explain Charges for holding credit card and percentage of transaction fee that pay pal charges?
Hey there is no annual fees for using the credit card and paypal takes 4% as a tranfer fees form paypal to paypal. and as far as i know paypal only send chaque to india and it will charge $5,and this will take around 20-25 days
