Gmail Phishing Scam (Account Upgrade to 100GB...)

I just got the following email from "gmail-noreply@google.com":

Given that it went past the Spam filter, for a second I thought it was real, but then I noticed the gmail-upgrade.com domain, did a whois check, checked the email headers (gator254.hostgator.com), and quickly realized that it was nothing but another typical phising scam.

Anyway, thought I would give a heads-up to everyone, in case someone else gets that email and has their password "upgraded" by "Gmail" before the site is shut down. The domain was registered yesterday, so it is apparently a new scam...

Report this to hostgator, otherwise that hostgator server is soon to become identified as SPAM server by other email services around the world.

People using that server and hostgator is gonna get screwed coz of that idiot spammer.

This scam has been around for a long time. I remember reporting it to Google Security about 3 months ago. The obvious giveaway is the mention of Gmail - everything to do with that service is now branded as Googlemail as far as G are concerned.

lol.. The link I see has got some files to download and guess what, they are movies..lol..

Just downloaded one..a movie for free :D

btw, on a serious note, thats phishing..the best thing to do is to avoid, Google has already banned the domain and removed its cache as well
