Someone hacked my site and placed their adsense code

    Hi, I use a sky scrapper on the left hand side of my homepage and thismorning I noticed that there were two sky scrappers displayed. I thought this was very odd, as I did not make this modification.

    After viewing the code source, I noticed that one of the adsense code
    displayed a pub code which was not mine. See below:

    <p align="center"> <script type="text/javascript"><!--
    google_ad_client = "pub-4193388774631432";
    google_ad_width = 160;
    google_ad_height = 600;
    google_ad_format = "160x600_as";
    google_ad_type = "text_image";
    google_ad_channel = "";
    google_color_border = "FFFFFF";
    google_color_bg = "FFFFFF";
    google_color_link = "0000FF";
    google_color_text = "000000";
    google_color_url = "191970";
    //-->
    </script>
    <script type="text/javascript"
    src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
    </script>

    This is the actual code the hacker placed on my home page.

    Fortunately for me I noticed early and proberly lost only $5 or $6
    dollars. I logged into my hosting account and changed my password. I
    also phoned my hosting account to find out how I could trace who did
    this.

    Is there anything that google can do to penalise who ever did this and
    also help prevent this from happening again?

    I look forward to your reply.

    Kind Regards

    I have already reported it to google. I just wanted to know if anyone else has heard of this and what is most likely to happen to the offender?

    regards

    If the hacker place some one leses code it is one thing.

    if he place his own code, it is stupidity.

    He is not thinking..

    that adsense account WILL NOT be banned by google.
    anybody could put there anybody's code.
    Is not necessary that the owner of that code to put it there.

    To stay safe in future, you can configure Adsense to display ads only on particular web domains.

    So if I was to insert ads with my competitor adsense code on my own website (through a third party of course...), then report to Google, will Google ban my competitor's account? Well, you will need more elements to make a case with Google it is not that simple

    I think google will not ban you that easily if you or your competitor was giving them good traffic for long and your sites has advertisers.

    Also there are multiple processes to prove that you own the site or you donot own the site ... :D ...

    Google in anyway never care from where traffic is coming ... at the end of day traffic is coming to the accounts .... so you have your adsense in DP ... you donot own DP of course .. but still you get traffic from there << hope you got the point ...

    That's only going to help against the opposite problem: people showing your ads on their site (not sure why they'd do that, but if content gets copied, so can the adsense).

    Google should give us a setting that says: only adsense blocks from account A can be published on site A (and perhaps B,C and D).

    send an email with the pub id and tell them which site of yours it was.
    in a week you get an email saying:
    at the end of the month their ad code doesn't work any more. :D
